So members don't have to go searching for new or archived news articles/references in the very broad section just titled "News". Sections for Sports, Policitics, Crime and "General", (unless you can think of other needed subdivisions). We also could have a section for Technology (we could either move relevant subjects from the other Technology section or even merge them).

Also we might want to rename the Section from "News" to News from Japan. That way you can differentiate what news can be shared there (maybe a sticky that says only news about and from Japan shared here) or give news from other countries a seperate subsection such as "News from the Wrold".

Just an idea that I thought might improve the forum. Think about it at least.

Either I should take this as a "No" or there is a heated discussion as to what the sections should be.......

An adult news section would be good too. I should've mentioned that. We get a lot of interest in porn related news but I think most people like to read about what is going on in general. We just haven't had anyone to post current events on an average basis.

as for me:
i don't have a problem to create some subsections.
the question is more or less, if it really needs to be that detailled.

as for 1+-News:
why not. Don't seem like a big problem here.

Also: Who would fill this sections?

It really doesn't have to be that detailed. I thought it might be nice and encourage shares and interest in Japan. Mostly I only visit three Japanese news websites but each has different categories. There are more English tranlated sites out there about Japanese news and most news websites I visit have one (Reuters and Associated Press for example). It doesn't take much time to copy and paste what I find interesting but there are others who occasionally post in that section too (mostly about porn stuff nowadays though but it wasn't always like that). Subsections would help keep news that people are interested in from being buried and make it easier to find.

Sports:
I don't share it or read it normally but there have been posts about Japanese sports before. Some people like to see what is going on. Japan is very competitve internationally from soccer, rugby, tennis and mma for example.

Politics:
Japanese politics are always headlines in Japanese news websites. I find it interesting maybe other do too.

Crime:
Overall I don't read a lot of crime stories and skip them (just depressing). It is a common news area so I mentioned it as a possible subsection. Probably not something I would share on.

Adult news:
We share a lot of porn here so there would be a common interest. Other members tend to post that.

General:
Would be a great a great place to put tidbits like about earthquakes, festivals, the unusual and that sort. I read it, some of its" worth sharing, some might be important for others to know.

Technology:
The Japanese have been on the cutting edge of technology for over half-a-century. They have their own space program. Lots of great stuff, some is posted in the Technology section.

I like to post that stuff. I enjoy reading it so others might too. I can't guarantee that my internet access is a permanent thing but so far so good.
