Finding subtitles has always been a huge pain. Most AI subtitle tools ask you to upload large video files to the cloud—not something I’m comfortable with, considering privacy and convenience. So I made this Mac video player that generates subtitles as you watch any video.

Features:
  • Generates real-time subtitles while watching videos
  • Fully offline processing (privacy-first, no internet required)
  • Support all common video formats (MP4, MKV, MOV, etc)
  • Supports 19 languages
  • Export subtitles (SRT, VTT, CSV formats)
  • Optimized specifically for Apple Silicon performance
There are still some limitations due to the model I used
  • There is still some hallucination for Japanese
There’s a free tier (7 subtitle generations per week), enough for casual use.

I’d love feedback and suggestions! Try it here:

would be nice if it could work with streaming videos, like capture any system audio, transcribe and translate and overlay subtitles on the fullscreen view.

Or have internal browser that you could watch through that and it generates subtitles for display there.

yes, that would be less ideal because it will need to wait for the sentence to complete before translation, but doable. There are probably chrome extensions that do it already.
