It won't slow it down at all. It only uses a chunk of your ram memory, nothing more. Unless you're playing a resource intensive game, like quake 4, you probably won't notice any difference.

It should run just fine, since it isn't cpu intensive. While az does use relatively much ram, with 1GB or more, there shouldn't be any problem whatsoever. I used to run az on a P4 2Ghz with 512MB of ram, and it ran just fine.

Even though there is a lot of crap and bullshit on wikipedia, it's still almost a godsend for some quick info. If you really need to be sure that the info you have is correct, check the sources for the wiki article, or simply get more sources for it yourself.

When you're just browsing and not encoding video or some such, you're not really using your cpu. What's the point in having a cpu if you're not using it? I say you let the script be and let it use 10-50% of you cpu. It's not going to have any effect on your overall system performance anyway.
