I never heard of MARIN. Recently, I downloaded International Attorney, Shameful Trial [SHKD-646] (Archives, for 1.16 GB; painless for 529 MB), as I figured there was nice potential with seeing a sophisticated lawyer in business suit having a rough time.
So I was fast-forwarding afterwards and was appalled... hold it, let me say that again, in case it wasn't clear... APPALLED... to discover the worst tattoos I've seen this side of Bonnie Rotten. Check out frames 1:31, 1:42, 1:52... her front, and her back:
All right, maybe I can overlook a little ink here or there, but this was pretty atrocious. And even a little ink is bad enough on a JAV actress. We come to JAV to get away from that nonsense, for badness' sake.
So then I wondered if that was a real tattoo. (I am in utter disbelief, you see, and I crave a rational explanation.) The translated plot description alludes to the Yakuza as making life difficult for her, and we know from our occasional JAVs featuring the Yakuza as the villains that our heroines frequently wind up getting tattooed, as punishment, or as a means to signify the lady has become one of them. (See, gangsters are the deviants of societies, and when they and other bad apples -- like bikers -- get tattoos, they can rightly appear rebellious and "cool" in that special, underworld and scummy way. Yet when ordinary people, and porn actresses, get tattoos thinking that will make them cool, they become the uncoolest people on earth. Damn it.)
Thing is, there was no scene in the movie giving the idea that she got tattooed by the Yakuza, at least none that I spotted with my quick peek. The moment her underthings come off, we see the "art." That should lead us to believe that the tattoos are hers, irrespective of this movie.
I dug up MARINA's Asian Screens page, but when I began to click on the screen shots of her other movies, Asian Screens' teeny-weeny thumbs kept popping up, giving me my first clue that MARINA got her start long ago. Sure enough, when I next stopped over at her DMM page, her ten pages of listings confirmed that. In fact, it seems her first venture into cinematic sin was ten long years ago.
After arranging her titles by release date, with her most recent films first, I started spot-clicking the ones that appeared to be originals (I'm trying to find her latest movies, you see, in order to get clarity... in this case, hopefully the clarity of her skin. This way I'm gonna know if her SHKD-646 tattoos are real, or fake)... but judging by the films' long lengths and other clues, it seems all of her next movies two or three pages into her filmography were compilations, or recycles of her older works. Only around 2012 did I encounter originals, although I wasn't being careful and could have missed the movies that came since.

I am concluding MARINA (JAV actresses with single names usually prefer the names to get capitalized, and who am I to disrespect that ridiculous tradition?) retired years ago, most likely in 2012, and has returned? Unfortunately, her only recent movie appears to be SHKD-646, so there is no way for me to know for sure whether she has mutilated her body or not. (If only she had another movie released a little before, or a little after, then the evidence would be there to see. But, no! I would have had to catch her with only a one-and-only comeback movie, to date.)
Well, I'm just speculating here... what do I know? Maybe she has been active all of this time. This is why I figured on tossing this question out to you, with the hope that you would know better. Has she retired, and recently returned? And has she made the unfortunate decision to be "cool," or is the design in the movie just for the movie?
