Most S tier actresses don't need to do it. IMO, nakadashi is a gimmick to boost popularity.

Technically, it is one of the steps most actress go through.
But jav idols that become mainstream generally don't go for it, simply because they don't need it to keep the sales up.

There are exceptions of course: Maria Ozawa (she's pretty muich finished at this point) or Tsubomi (she has done all kinds of messed up stuff, and still a solid top 3 month after month).
