That's a very interesting question, Jjkk.
(WOW, you're such an old-time member and you rarely speak up. This question must have gotten under your skin enough to take pen to paper... so to speak. I see you first wondered about this matter over a year ago.)
Those not familiar with "Female Director Haruna," she has been behind at least this one long-running (since 2007) Nampa series, where ladies off the street are persuaded to go pink. (She has done a lot more besides that particular series, but it's one she must be best known by. It's not often that the name of a porn director, or any director, gets worked into the titles... I know Director John Carpenter chose to adopt that strategy. John Carpenter's this, John Carpenter's that... I mean, I appreciate the original HALLOWEEN, but enough with the John Carpenter within the titles, already.)
We do see her hand getting busy, as LoveGIANT pointed out in response to the first time you asked, helping out the hostesses of these movies, with the stimulation of the victims. That isn't unusual with Nampa movies, where the behind-the-scenes personnel have been known to ... heh... lend a hand.
(The direct answer to the question in your headline, whether she has sexually participated in movies where she was the director, I can say with near-certainty, would be "no.")
Apart from that, as far as whether she has ever done porn-acting, my guess would be... given established tradition... that more often than not, those who rise to director status in porn usually get their start in front of the camera. Such does not happen all of the time, of course; given that Haruna is a lady, however, I'd say the odds of her having cinematically put out are increased. How often do women step into a porn studio's office, and clamor for a directing job? (The answer is... I don't really know, but I can't imagine it happening a lot.)
So assuming there is validity to my little hypothesis, that still does not mean we will know what has taken place in Haruna's mysterious past, because she could have easily adopted the "Haruna" name for her new directing career. So whatever stage name she went by in her porno past would most likely have been different.
The only way to get to the bottom of Haruna, as I would further venture to guess, would be to poke around in Japanese sites... tough going for those of us who do not know the language. She has been around long enough for articles to have been written about her, or enough for her to have given an interview here or there. Only what do we search by? Putting in her English and Japanese names along with some other pertinent keywords did not immediately bring up anything promising for me.
Friends here who know Japanese and who are willing to put in some research would be best equipped to come up with clues, or even answers.

I am so impressed you found that article, EroMura777; those who'd like to give a crack at understanding it, if you have Chrome as a browser, all you need do is right-click anywhere on the opened page in Japanese, and select "Translate to English"... I understood some of it. (Maybe 10%.)
For one thing, the lady (Nao Masaki) is pretty. (And I KNOW I didn't need to read anything to gather that.)
We learned that she started out in the business as an actress. (A-ha! As I speculated for Haruna.) So then I was compelled to find out who she was as an actress. In the translation, we were told that she went by the name of "Lolita," which I singled out in Japanese as " ロリ系 "... but when I put that into DMM's "Actress" search, nothing came up.
A little more pokin' around, and this page turned up with a photo identified as "Actress Nao Masaki

(Photo turned out to be from the cover of DAPS-059, with actress name of Natsuki Ando... who has a huge filmography at DMM from the older days, although a lot are compilations.)
Is it the same woman? Nose is coming down straight, in both... similar facial structure... eyebrow... I can see a resemblance, although dunno for sure.
Anyway, that's neither here nor there; I was just curious. Far as the article, it was a strange one, with little talk about the porn movie business. She is an advocate for going dutch on a date, though. (Given the nature of the magazine, fashion for men, it sounds like the accent was on what kind of men she would like going out with. Lots of references to "virgins," which I took to mean her commentary on Japan's new breed of sissy-boys. It was not an easy read, I'll tell you that!)
And what does all of this have to do with the topic of this thread, Haruna? Not much... but it was still very interesting to gain some insight on a female JAV director, and this discovery lends hope that perhaps a similar article or interview will be out there for the enigmatic Female Director Haruna.

I'm not sure where I've read this, but I recall there was a decision that she did participate in a few of the earlier "lesbian deep kiss" series titles. I even remember someone making a comment saying they're glad she stopped because she was not nice to look at.. Ever since then I've been wondering. Plus, the work she directed is fantastic, so that got me thinking even more about it.

R18 has a listing for Haruna the actress (sixty-nine titles, quite a few having nothing to do with her), and unfortunately she does not appear to have one starring role. That is, she appears with other actresses just like the one above, making it difficult to single her out.
Two where she appears with a fewer number of actresses are The Sexy Juice [UM-030], as well as The Reason This Divorced Runs To Sex [VNDS-457]. The back cover of the latter features these graphics, representing four actresses:
Looks like each has been described by name. We may see the Japanese lettering for her name goes like this:

I ran a search through the archives... and Post #5 from above on this very thread came up. Right above that (Post #3), EroMura777 had already mentioned Nao Masaki as a female director.
So since I have discovered this current post I've now prepared is already-covered-territory and thus pretty much irrelevant, the responsible thing for me to do would be to scrap what I've written. Will I do the responsible thing? What, after all of this work I've put in? Are you kidding?
