How and where I download and collect JAV

I'm curious as to how my fellow members find and download JAV. My collection contains about 2600 movies so, first, JavLuv has been indispensable in organizing my collection. Shout out to TmpGuy for that!

For downloading, I use Internet Download Manager. It has simplified the download process and I highly recommend it. https://www.internetdownloadmanager.com/

I like MP4 files as a default since I find scrolling through movies much easier than TS files. The majority of of my downloads are TS files however, so I use a file converter to change to MP4. Xmedia Recode is free and does a good job but it's slow and CPU intensive. I bought VideoProc Converter and it is a very full featured program but it costs $25. It is comprehensive though and can even resize your large files to smaller versions if you run out of space.

So that's how, now for where.

1) 141Jav is a daily go to. I check out new movies and use Utorrent for the downloads. Most new movies are posted Thursday thru Saturday. https://www.141jav.com/
2) SexTB.net is a favorite site. Lots of English-subbed movies and good quality downloads. Nice actress database too. https://sextb.net/
3) JavGuru. Great site with lots of subbed movies as well and often good descriptions and photos. Good quality downloads. I do use and pay for Uploadgig but IDM (noted above) will also capture and download the stream. https://jav.guru/category/english-subbed/
4) JavHDporn is a reliable and comprehensive site with good quality downloads if not always to the higher resolution I prefer. https://www4.javhdporn.net/
5) JavGG.net is decent although I don't love the interface https://javgg.net/
6) SupJav is also decent. https://supjav.com/
7) MissAV is very comprehensive and very searchable with combo searches but the download quality is not excellent, usually 720p at best. https://missav.com/en
8) JavSub has, as its name suggests, lots of English-subbed Jav. https://javsub.co/

So those are my main go-tos. Love to hear about great sites I've missed and how you like to download, collect and organize.

Fifteen to twenty years ago I would have been using Usenet, eMule and then discovering this site. Ten years ago I would have pivoted to using torrents primarily. Five years ago I started using 141JAV; more about that in a moment...

Right now it's a combination of:

1. JAV DB mainly for discovery and torrents for new material. I prefer grabbing hdd800.com encodes where possible for quality, availability and lack of watermarks.

I'll use other torrent sites for slow burn on rare, old stuff and megapacks.

2. JAV Library for more discovery and downloads using K2S and Fakirdebrid.

3. Maxjav, SexTB and JavGuru for comparison shopping for highest quality downloads where the content has aged past peak torrent availability.

Now that space isn't an issue, I've spent time replacing older versions with higher quality ones. 141JAV notoriously had a lot of the smaller 720p Thz.la and SIS001 releases rather than the full 1080p ones so I've replaced a ton of those - to other non-watermarked versions where possible.

Not sure where I am with titles. Probably 5000 or so (3000+ lesbian). Somewhere over 22TB, 14 of which is F/F.

Prefer MP4 and MKV cabinets where possible. I favor AVI over WMV for old SD content because most of what I got before 2012 was AVI and the WMVs of that age often seem to be lossy reencodes.

Need to spend the time to use Javinator and JavLuv to properly tag up my collection. I already have Jellyfin set up and running just using IDs ready for that project.

I use a combo of Google image search (which they just destroyed by forcing us to use Lens), Yandex and Asianscreens for HQ covers along with maker's websites where I know they're better resolution than DMM's 800x600. I favor Duga (1000w) and sometimes Tsutaya (1280w). Xcity when it has a spine. I avoid shit like Javpop like the plague with its upscaled DMM covers. I fall back to the original DMM cover if nothing better is available.

I tend to avoid subs because they are normally terrible translations and negatively impact my enjoyment.

They steal subs and when you comment about it, you get blocked lmao. That's what happened to me (I noticed with our MIDV-040 subs). I still can access their website though. Same thing for javsub.co but they also use auto translated subs.

For downloading movies, I use Maxjav. Full HD movies, no watermark. Also easier to not accidentally download a stupid decensored file with crappy image quality and annoying watermark moving all around.
For VR movies, I use JAVLibrary's links or a private tracker.

Oh and in no way was I denigrating quality subs. Just pointing out that you get what you pay for and if it's an auto translation of Japanese to English by way of Chinese you can expect it to be terrible.

I'm sure there are excellent works available but you'd have to be prepared to spend several hundred dollars for the privilege I suppose (figuring a 2 hour movie might take 5 to 6 hours to listen to, translate, transcribe and time stamp @ a conservative $30/hr).

Download is mostly through sukebei.nyaa for convenience but for older stuff that has little torrent activity I try using Javlibrary next and if that fails I will settle for more compressed videos downloaded via Cococut from streaming sites. Organization is just Javluv

I too use javlibrary for browsing and sukebei for torrenting. I like browsing by studio, generally only care for the big ones. My HDD was running out fast but I'm very selective about new stuff now, if I dl 10 films a month, probably only 4 of those are new releases. About 22TB full and another 4TB HDD untouched.

One more step I used to take was go to micmicdoll for high res posters, the largest ones available. Sadly someone else took over that domain and it's just another streaming site now. Studio twitters are such a pain to scroll through and sometimes censor the posters, I've got no idea where else to get the original ones. If anyone knows please give me a heads up!

No and for the same reason I don't use 141JAV. It's one torrent file per title.

I'd rather pull torrents from JAVdb where I can pick and choose based on source and file size.

For TS files to MP4, I recommend downloading using CocoCut, it downloads TS into MP4 files. So no converting is required. I don't like TS files too.

I'm surprised SupJav isn't higher. It's my main go-to. Mainly due to the decensored stuffs. I much prefer the decensored stuffs, especially recently the tech has become much better. The site also reuploads old movies in decensored format.

I’ve also noticed decensored has become better and glad someone has mentioned it. Now and again I search on Javtiful for decensored.

Video quality inferior than the original file due to their re-encoding for "decensoring". The "decensored" content is worse because you have an annoying watermark moving all around the screen, and instead of pixels with sharp edges, you now have a blurry spot. When it's a blowjob scene, it looks horrible.


JAV has censorship. It parts of the deal. I don't understand why some are complaining about it. Watch western porn if censorship is bothering you. Or watch uncensored content from the small uncensored studios.

I don’t think it has to be that binary. Think of subs as an analogy. JAV would ideally be filmed in the viewers native language but thankfully we haven’t left it as “oh well, it’s in Japanese and that’s that”. Kudos to those that put the time and effort to post subs; for some JAVs it really elevates the experience.

Mosaic removal is a tougher nut to crack, and very true the early attempts are unwatchable. But I for one will not discourage the attempts and I do believe there’s been progress. Of all the things humankind should be dedicating AI and GPUs to, it should be this! Lmao.

You need a premium account on filehosts because the files are big. I recommend using a debrid service instead. For few bucks/month, you can download as a premium member on many filehosts.

Subtitles don't modify the file itself. I would say that changing the audio would be similar to mosaic "reduction". Let's say because western people don't like the actors/actresses' voices, so some decide to dub the voices to make them "western". If people don't like japanese voices, why do they watch JAV then ? JAV are made in a certain way because it's made for a japanese audience.

You can't recreate pixels that don't exist in the first place. I'm sure if you compare the unedited original file with a "decensored" file, there would be a huge difference (not just with the video quality itself). Results for upscaled old movies is better because there are existing pixels. Yet, AI isn't something magical. You need a human work to get the best result possible (restored mainstream movies).

I've been collecting JAV for about 15 years. My collection stands at just over 1.000 titles. 50% consists of S1, Moodyz and Prestige titles (my taste is pretty vanilla). These days I manage my collection using JavLuv exclusively. I do still go through the trouble of adding coverart to the video files using tageditor (https://github.com/Martchus/tageditor) and adding the relevant metadata (actress, genre, studio, year of release). Everything I download gets converted to MP4. I use Subtitlecat (https://www.subtitlecat.com/) to find subs for my videos.

1) Everything gets torrented using a VPN connection from my Synology NAS (using download station).
2) I browse Javlibrary, JAVjunkies (seems to be gone since a few week btw), but most notably Sukebei.nyaa.si

In the past I also used usenet for downloading JAV, but over time I have moved away from that. Nowadays I wouldn't know what to do without Sukebei.
