HUNTA-058, HUNTA-059, HUNTA-060

I've been going through the entire HUNTA series, and realized there seems to be no HUNTA-058, HUNTA-059, and HUNTA-060...? Does anyone know if these were released and pulled or never assigned or what happened? Even on HUNTER's site there's no sign of it (though to be honest, they miss plenty of others in their catalog page): https://hhh-av.com/works/list/label/34858?page=62

Anyone know?

Interesting. My first guess is that the actress(es) there might have requested to remove those from sale as per the Japanese AV laws (I don't know the details but I've heard about it multiple times)

Or maybe some titles get planned and allotted a code but then cancelled. Though I feel that if this was the reason, we would have much more blanks than we have now. A counterargument to the "removal request" reason is that they are adjacent, and if that was the reason, then either the titles are related somehow and have the same actress(es), which is unlikely, at least for Hunter, in my experience, or the actresses are different but they asked to remove the adjacent titles.

Maybe, if the titles were actually filmed close in time to each other as well, there was a shared problem for them (a conflict with the director/actor/... that was in all three)...

Just a lot of guesses, but yeah, an interesting case. I've seen on the forum recently, — don't remember where exactly, — a reference to Sherlock Holmes in this context. Or maybe it was Sherlock Pornes? He would solve this case, I think

P.S. I decided to check myself, and this Japanese wiki also has blanks for them (I've checked for HUNTA-058). Now, when I need some detailed info, I turn to Japanese-made sources, and this is one of them (for actresses), and for actors, I've discovered this one not so long ago. Basically, I see this wiki as quite trustworthy

That was my thread where I thought it would be a fun way to ask people on here what they thought actually happened at the end of a scene, but it didn't really involve any detective work as I laid out all the evidence and was just curious as to, again, what people thought. This case, however, is indeed strange.
As you pointed out, gregorsamsa, sougouwiki does list the titles but notes that they are missing ("※欠番" - "*Missing number" is what I get from the translator). However, the titles have hyperlinks pointing to their respective DMM sites. I cannot visit that site from my location and I have no desire to use a VPN to do so, but somebody else could check it to see if those are actual links and those titles are, in fact, up on DMM, or just placeholders.

Ah, I see. I remember now. How could I forget that profile picture :)

And you're right, there are links pointing to something on the DMM site. I haven't checked them. Now, thanks to you, I have (using a VPN to make the site think I'm in Japan), and it just says that the specified page cannot be found. So, these are just placeholders. The mystery remains... For now at least...

Looks like they never got released. If they were released and then withdrawn, either at the request of the actress or because she turned out to be underage or something, they would still exist somewhere online. Not all sites honor removal requests, especially not the more shady ones, but these are nowhere to be found.

I also used the wayback machine to see whether DMM ever had the cover pictures for them, but they never did.

So whatever the reason these are missing, they have *always* been missing and not removed at a later date.

I assume that the wiki just uses placeholders (these are very basic and don't hold any information besides the code; sometimes the DVD cover names contain additional information, I feel, e.g. some prefixes or postfixes besides the code), and the DMM site never had these on site,

If understand correctly, the OP references the publisher's site, and the titles in question are just not there. As if they never were. So, it seems that the question is more like, what made the studio to allot these codes but never use them. Or, more likely, what made them use these but never get the contents published — and not re-allot the codes. So, it comes down, again, to what happened at the studio, and, presumably, even before the release

Maybe to answer this kind of questions you really need to know how the JAV studios work, or at least how this studio works. From the marketing perspective, by the way, it seems detrimental. Imagine you're a collector and you want to collect all the Hunter titles, and you just can't. So, you call the studio (if you're hardcore), and, maybe, they explain it to you. Or make up an explanation...

The more you get into it, the more shady possible explanations become :)

Or maybe I am/we're just overthinking it, and they were like, "Screw it, nobody will care about three consecutive codes not being used". But that's how conspiracy theories are built: maybe these are coincidences, but they sure don't look like it. Moreover, just skipping codes like that... 日本人らしくない

To rephrase a certain comedian, Hunter could clear so much s...t up with a 5-minute press conference

I think these movie got cancelled. It can be production problem in that month so they can't finish all the movies.
