How should they react?

This gets to me everytime because it's hard to classify them solely as celebrities.

There is a gap between the celebs and their personal life. Not saying JAV stars have no personal life, they are humans too. But, the concept that we have for them...

Is it right to see them as prostitutes, except they are of higher standards? Or should we swoon and hope to shake her hands and get her autograph then stay far away?

We see them suck, fuck and sometimes do the most humiliating things, we've probably seen every nook and cranny of her body, even more so if she does uncensored.

They even do those fan thanksgiving vids where they introduced fake scenarios that involve the JAV's star fans getting a chance to get a shot on her. Some JAV idols do appear in hostess bars and work in the industry.

Is it safe to say that if you ever bump into one in the streets of Japan, you can shake her hands and give her some cash for some bang time? :nosebleed:

Thus the direct question: celebrity or sex-worker?

Take out phone snap snap then walk up to her be polite not to really go :nosebleed: and :perfectplan: just ask autograph and picture or two with her. Maybe if there more connection going on anyone would move on to next step.

No. Most girls treat their AV career as work, and as such the only people they sleep with on a moments notice are hired AV actors. To have a shot with an AV girl, you'd have to go the traditional route and try to date them, though many girls tend to be high maintenance (owing to their being in AV in the first place, in order to have spending money).

Moreover, AV actors and actresses are all required to get monthly STD tests; if they catch some sort of disease, it could jeopardize their ability to continue making AVs.

There are some studios that now allow fans to make AVs with the girls (similar to fan thanksgiving AVs), but you have to go through screening and the STD tests, and usually must be willing to show your face on camera.

Otherwise if you pass by a girl on the street, the most you can realistically expect is a friendly hello, and autograph, and maybe a quick photo together.

A couple of months ago I was in Akihabara and met ASAKURA YU. She was buying a drink in a convenient store, when she got out, I follow her and told her that I was a great fan (not really but c'mon it was a real JAV idol!:nosebleed:), she smiled, thanked me, said in a very polite way "thanks for your support, keep enjoying", smiled again and kept on walking.

She was very normal, I would had expected somebody trying to avoid people, probably ashamed or something, but nop, just another celebrity of a different kind. Actually I walked away but turned my head to watch her one more time and... she was signing an autograph for some other perver... I mean guy ha ha ha.:evillaugh:

I think other JAV Idol would do the same.

Yep, metastatis has hit the nail on the head (although I'd leave out the "I followed her" part). If you see one and manage to recongize them out of character (first off, kudos to you) then approach them, ask politely if they speak English (in Japanese, please). If yes or if their escort does, then explain you're a fan and POLITELY ask if you make take a photograph for yourself. Do -NOT- say "I can't wait to show my friends on facebook/akiba-online!"

Note: Actresses and Models who walk the streets alone in this profession are not alone. See that ugly little dude mingling around the magazines in the combini? See the shrimpy looking university kid that looks like he couldn't beat off let alone beat you up? Yea, they'll kill you if you fuck with their client. Think of it as insurance.

If you didn't get it, then read it again.
