While the south and the east of the USA and the UK got battered with a winter storms, the sun beamed down on California
and the world’s largest solar plant turned on — for the first time ever — to take it in.
The plant, called " Ivanpah ", can produce up to 392 megawatts of power, enough to power 140,000 homes, making it responsible for nearly 30 percent of all solar power in the United States.
" Ivanpah " covers nearly 5.5 square miles in the Mojave Desert, and has 173,500 panels.
