what better publicity for a porn star than a rumour that her powerful husband is threatening to remove all her films from the market. this reminds me of karen applegate. “who?”, i can hear some of you ask. karen applegate is the mother of the blonde american porn star shauna grant who made a few dozen fuck flicks in the early 1980s and then killed herself.
that should have been the end of that. but nooooo… a supposedly ‘outraged’ karen applegate proceeded to authorize several documentaries and prime-time network tv specials about her daughter’s career. and why? because, she claimed, she wanted to get some money in order to buy up all the existing copies of shauna’s films and destroy them. yeah, right. if you believe that, i got a bridge i want to sell you. this woman turns her daughter from an obscure object of lust in some x-rated theatres into a national HOUSEHOLD NAME! and she wants us to believe that she did it in order to make everyone forget shauna’s porn career. i mean, you can’t make this stuff up! what’s more, she won’t let up. she still does anniversary shows on entertainment tonight to keep alive the memory of the career that she wants everybody to forget.
you can see shauna grant on any western porn forum with a ‘classic’ section. but i wouldn’t bust my keyboard trying to find her if i were you. and i wouldn’t get too excited about the rumours of cancelled careers in jav. the rumours may be true. but the motivations for them… spurious. perhaps deliberately counter-productive. (i tell you one thing though: they ain’t getting any of MY serina files.) and i bet when that last sleazy american porn theatre went out of business in the 1990s, the last picture show still featured shauna grant.
