Description: Sleepy Eyes of Death is the american title of the ‘60s Japanese Chanbara / Samurai Film-Series starring Ichikawa Raizo as a Eurasian Ronin named Nemuri Kyôshirô. It is extremely famous in Japan, becoming one of the longest-running (12 films) and best-loved samurai series of all time.
These films are all uncut, unedited, and presented in the original theatrical aspect ratio in anamorhpic widescreen.

The movies take its title from the description given to him:
"the mysterious stranger, the samurai with the strange, sleepy eyes."
He is also called "The Son Of The Black Mass" because he was conceived during the Ritual Sex of a Black Mass between his mother, a daughter of Japanese royalty, and his father, a Jesuit Priest with secret occult initiation who came from Portugal, Europe.
Nemuri Kyoshiro has mastered the Engetsu-Sappo, "The Full Moon Cut", a magical hypnotizing Kenjutsu technique where he draws a circle with his sword followed by the massive slaying of anyone who f-cks with him.
Another technique he does that is really cool is what I call the “Delicious Cut” when he slashes womens kimonos off, revealing tasty eye candy
In the first film, Nemuri Kyôshirô says:
"I'm just someone who's pissed off at all mankind even though I'm a man myself. I'm past the point of no return... I know not what the future holds, but in the time that I have, I shall be the ruin of evil men that cross my path."
He has a very Zen demeanor and, at the same time, quite the womanizer. The plots of the films are rich and engaging, the battle scenes have superb martial arts and some fairly horrific gore. The stories take place during the Edo period under the Tokugawa Shogunate. Being that these are Chanbara films, fans of Lone Wolf and Cub, Zatoichi, Musushi etc will love these.

Plot: Nemuri Kyoshiro, a youthful and cynical ronin with unparalleled skill, is approached by both sides in a game of corruption, ambition, and double crosses. The leader of the Kaga clan, who thinks he has killed his smuggling partner, fears that the shogunate will discover his illegal activities. He learns of evidence that will prove his guilt. Meanwhile, his partner is not dead, and, assisted by a master of Shorenji boxing, is looking for revenge and for his loot. The Kaga leader sends the beautiful Chisa to enlist Nemuri's aid. The unexpected happens: the hard-bitten Nemuri falls in love. Can he protect her, topple the criminals, and avoid the boxer's deadly skill?
