I'm not sure if you really can learn Japanese by watching JAV movies. Maybe you learn a few phrases which occur over and over again. But you won't be able to understand real sentences which contain information. E.g. if they have a short interview at the beginning at the movie or if it's a movie which has a plot or story. At least that is my opinion.

I recommend to buy some books - or even better - to attend a Japanese class nearby you.

I myself do go Japanese class, but I just wanna know some Japanese terms, when having sex with a Japanese women. They might say something, and you just don't understand.

I'm learning it for more than 2 years now in a evening school (1,5 hours each week, 24 evenings each year). But I'm still a total beginner and have the impression that I don't understand a single word when I listen to normal conversation. Still have to depend on subs when I watch Japanese movies. :cry5:
Before I tried to learn it from books. But it didn't work at all. I need some pressure. Otherwise I can't keep up the motivation.

I guess a good method to learn Japanese faster is taking a language course in Japan including staying at a Japanese host family. But for this you need money (I mean a lot more money) and some weeks off from you work.

I think you can learn thru JAV but its all based on your personal motivation because I am absolutely certain that nobody will teach these sex terms to you. Sex is a strong motivator so use it to learn something!! I find this stuff quite interesting and addicting.

Try using Rikaikun, AEDICT, densha Jisho and other kanji translators or language translators. Its hard for me to remember the kanji for certain things but when i hear or see the romanized words, i tend to remember it.

but even with rikaikun, the exact meaning or wording can be hard to find without a teacher or translator. You also can't highlight text in pictures or title covers so I am not sure how you can translate that other than trying to draw the kanji out which is very hard!!

Apart from a few sex words I've learnt from watching JAV, most of the Japanese I learnt came from watching learning vids on youtube, looking at language websites and speaking to my Japanese friends. Oh and using apps on my iphone has come in handy too.

Yea, I speak Japanese. JAV usually contains nothing too difficult to understand. Of course catching what native speakers say can be the most problematic thing. Most of what they say I'd never actually use in a conversation with anyone. But if I was in the mood for love then yea, I'd speak a bit. Some girls like to hear more English than Japanese.

You can only learn some basic words and porn lingo I assume everyone knows them already by watching so much.

If you really want to actually learn the language best option is go to Japan imo.
