How have I not seen any hype on the board for Mikami Yua? Shes super cute, not OL sexy or super lewd like your kurea hasumi's or what have you, seems sort of unsure of herself and inexperienced but still performs really well and looks amazing.

ITT talk about actresses that are in this niche. Shes not a loli, older than a schoolgirl, but not quite a fully-blossomed women. Maybe college age is a better fit but I feel like the look is a little different. Almost like a kindergarten teacher. Im just going to call it Girl Next Door.

I agree with you. She is definitely under rate. She quite a beauty. She has a beautiful face with a lovely smile, that go great with facials. Her body is slim but has nice curves , ass and boobs. her skin is unreal, even in film you just get the impression that its super soft. One thing about her that i notice is that unlike many other jav idols who have the natural school girl, lolita, mature or OL look is that you can tell right alway that she works on her appearances. To me she has more of a high class (rich) women look than girl next door but i can see way you would label her the girl next door.

I first found out about her by change. I ran into a reblog video post on tumblr. I later found out that the scene was from this movie. At first i thought that the video clip was a private self shot amatuer video because it look like it was shot on cell phone. Luckly after running a google image search on the screen shot of the video it led me to a forum with more in screen shot and info on the video that i later use to track down the video. After that i was hook and everything is history.

She tried this path and she succeed. You are right, her past helped her to sell her movie but it probably more helped to get a contract. For example, I know that dolph ziggler (pro-wrestler) from WWE received an offer from Brazzers (of course he didn't respond lol). He wouldn't have receive one if he wasn't well known. I guess same thing happened to Yua.

Now, she continues because her movies sell well and she is liked by av fans too. Doing one movie is one thing (many girls do it, there is a thread about it) but continuing is more difficult, former AKB or not, if you are not able to offer content that fans can like and enjoy, it will not work. Until now, Yua succeed.

paparoach408 you nail it right on the head with why i think she underrated. While she has won awards and has a decent following, she doesn't seem to have that "buzz" around her. Like other JAV legends like Sora Aoi, Maria Ozawa, Yuma Asami and current Jav Icons like Tsubomi, Julia, Shunka Ayumi had/ have. I think you have a point once she moves on to a large studio or different studio she have more success. Your right about her performance, There is definitely room for improvement, but I think part of it has to do with the fact that most of her videos with the studio are share a lot of similarities. I hope that once she move onto a different studio, she try more different jav genres. That alone should hopefully help her develop more as a performer. For now I'm enjoying her young firm beautiful body and hoping for a bigger pay off (performance wise) down the round.

If anything Yua Mikami of reminds me of Saki Tsuji. Saki Tsuji also had and incredible body and lots of fans, but she never seem to be able to climb to the mountain top. So i hope that Yua Mikami career doesn't follow Saki Tsuji career path and gets lost in the shuffle with so many beautiful jav idols that debut each year.

I agree her AKB48 history definetly help her out in the jav industry. Been associated with AKB48 will automatically create a buzz and curiosity about entering JAV industry. I really hope she finds a long successful career in the JAV industy.

Anyway... after 6 months of (maybe) escorting she started releasing AV with Muteki at a clock-work 1 vid per month schedule. Now I think she's dropped her pertention as a "mainstream" idol who's moonlighting on AV for once or twice. Now (hopefully) she's a full-time AV performer who once use her (forgettable?) I was aware of her "scandal" with Tegoshi Yuya (who looks like a girl haha). But its kinda common among idols because girls use that for tring to get a job in the entertainment after. The only one who really succeed (I might be wrong) is Reina Tanaka from the Hello Project. She has a rock band and I enjoy their music a lot (they signed a contract in major this year).
