Do you have a favourite av-actress whose works, you feel like you must watch? If so, do you consider this behaviour of yours a form of parasocial interaction ?
(just as a friendship evolves through spending time together and sharing personal thoughts and opinions, parasocial relationships evolve by watching characters on our favorite TV shows, and becoming involved with their personal lives, idiosyncrasies, and experiences as if they were those of a friend.)

I think the only actress I've tried to grab as much a possible from (irrespective of genre) is Reiko Nakamori. There are others I've collected many works by but usually within category niches.

As for parasocial interaction, categorically not. I dislike the kind of celebrity worship (or hatred) that can spring from this. I don't think it's healthy.

I don't make a habit out of seeking information about the personal lives of performers. Even if I did I would want to be clear about the distinction between their on screen persona(s) and their private life, much as I'm sure they would want both themselves and their audience to.

There are a number of actresses I'm a fan of more than Iroha Natsume but for some reason I feel compelled to collect all her stuff, not necessarily ever seeing them. Maybe she just looks amazing on those covers. But I know that's not what you're asking...there's no one really consistent enough for me to be a devoted full time fan.

I'm not particularly concerned with their personal lives although I follow a bit of industry gossip, even if I was I'd just be seeing their facades on social media. Thankfully not, as it would've blown a hole in my bank account on OF and the like. I'll say this though, when a favorite retires from the scene and disappears, I'd sometimes feel like saying goodbye to an old friend, then it hit me that I've never actually met any of them. I read that Tsubomi is retiring to the countryside and has no plans of getting married. I don't watch a lot of her stuff, but she'd been very prominent throughout the years and knowing I've "seen" her for the last time feels...pretty bittersweet.

Likewise I only started following JAV in 2006-7ish and many of them are still active on social media years after retirement. I've seen them mature into their 30s. They're still pretty, so I won't use the word old, but that day will come and it's gonna hit really hard the day I see a generation of AV starlets enter their 60s and reminded of my own mortality.

I'm getting existential dread, I'd better go back to my "Favorite JAV Raep" thread to distract myself...

For most actresses even those I like I will usually only download their videos in genres I like. The 2 exceptions are probably Anri Okita since she was my first AV actress I really liked and more recently Alice Otsu.

I am not really interested in their personal lives and such more so than simple facts about themselves that they readily share. While a parasocial relationship is not inherently bad its important to always be cognizant that a relationship is parasocial because confusing a parasocial relationship with a real relationship is unhealthy.

In terms of AV, the most important aspext to me is acknowledgeing that the actresses in every movie is an actual human but they are still playing a character. I feel that in porn/AV, failing to make this distinction is one of the causes of individuals having an unhelathy relationship with porn and their own real life interactions with women.
