Nintendo will launch the Wii U in Japan on 8th December...
The White-coloured "Basic" Wii U will cost 26,250 yen (about £209) and comes with 8GB of flash memory.
The Black-coloured "Premium" Wii U will cost 31,500 yen (£251), comes with 32GB of flash memory and a Nintendo Network Premium subscription. Nintendo Network Premium is a loyalty scheme which gets you Wii eShop points for purchases and 10 per cent back from digital downloads. There's no other way to join the service, which will run through until December 2014.
Separate GamePads will cost 13,440 yen (around £107) - expensive, although there are currently no games which support a second tablet. A separate Pro Controller will cost 5000 yen (£39).

Nintendo has announced that its latest home console, Wii U, will launch across Europe on 30th November.
The Wii U Basic Pack features a Wii U console with 8GB internal storage and a Wii U GamePad, both in white.
The Wii U Premium Pack contains a black Wii U console and Wii U GamePad, with 32GB of internal storage to provide more space for downloadable digital content. The Premium Pack also contains a stand for the GamePad and console, a charging cradle for the GamePad, a sensor bar and the Nintendo Land software. Both packs also feature an HDMI cable and AC adapters for console and GamePad.
The Wii U Premium Pack also features a reward programme called Nintendo Network Premium that grants points for digital purchases in Nintendo eShop. Valued at around 10% of the original Nintendo eShop price, this credit can be used against future purchases once you reach a minimum of 500 points*.

Deluxe Set: All components are black. This bundle includes all elements from the Basic Set, as well as the Nintendo Land game, increased console storage capacity of 32GB, a console stand, GamePad charging cradle and a stand that allows users to place the GamePad vertically on a table for $349.99.
Consumers who purchase the Deluxe Set also will be enrolled in the Deluxe Digital Promotion, which lets Wii U owners receive points for each digital download and redeem those points for future downloadable content from the Nintendo eShop. The promotion is currently planned through 2014
Wii U will land at North American retail on November 18.
