JAV means "JAPANESE" Adult Video.
There are some studios that will bring in women to the studio that are not Japanese, but the market demand for that is small. Most consumers of JAV dream of the girl/mother/OL next door, not the 'woman from another country'. For that, they go to those countries and buy wives.

That may be correct, but about would want to join that business here? You would make more working as a taxi driver in Bratislava.

I'm pretty sure the Japanese read American comics. All you have to be is good to break into American comics. Plus I think you get paid more. Oddly the same is probably true for AV.

who pays more, marvel ? starters get a 100 or 150 bucks a page i think, at best, thats not a lot ,well it depends where you live, where i live thats a joke, youre much better off in advertisment, (150 in one hour) but live here is very expensive (one cheeseburger and a coke 7 bucks fifty, at mc donalds). it also depends on how many artists are available for the industry, if your country doesent have a comicbook industry, theres probably not so many good artists, so you can make a fortune in advertisment. in japan , theres probably thousands of good drawers...but comics are also very popular...
i would think you get better pay in japan...

wages in the states are pretty messed up from what i have heard, one comicbook publisher said in a you tube video, he gets offers for pencilling, inking and colloring a book for 2500 dollars a month!!! crazy!!! the artist even using his own computers!!!

i dont know what comics the japanese read, japan is very americanized i think, i once read a book on meditation , the writer said that a lot of japanese dont even know the jap. sign for zen anymore.

I honestly don't know who pays more, I do know however that you shouldn't be too concerned with pay at the start, you just want to get your foot in the door and depending on talent and demand your pay will shoot up...
Shouldn't we be having this discussion at deviantart?

Pay for most jobs is very low in Japan. That's not abnormal, that's just common. Hell, most of those English teachers here that work under regular contracts make about 15-20% more than the avera Japanese worker. Even friends that are lead designers, engineer managers and other jobs that, back in Canada would pay VERY well, here make on average 210-220,000 yen.

8 years ago when I first came to Japan, I was teaching English and able to clear 450,000 yen a month with VERY little trouble. Back in 2009 I tried again and found I was LUCKY to bring in 120,000 yen/month by doing itaku contract work. Hence why I work for myself. I know my product, I deliver it well and I make clients very happy.

The production and distribution of pornography in Thailand is highly illegal, hence there are VERY few videos and photo sets (etc) featuring Thai women that are made within the country. Ever notice how the majority of Thai-born women in porn are producing it in the states? Because they get paid dozens of times more than they would back home, PLUS it's not illegal.

this is shit, i recently heard an economist say :companies worldwide keep economies from growing in a healthy way, by paying low wages, and keeping people from consuming, what others are trying to sell..

how much is 450`000 yen, and how much do you pay for diner in a decent tokyo resraurant or a 3 room appartment in a toyo suburb?
what is a itaku contract?

450,000 yen is 450,000 yen... what kind of answer do you want?
Also, define 'decent' Tokyo restaurant... my level of decent might be different from yours.
A three-room apartment in central Tokyo region or what? Tokyo isn't a city (other than the immediate area at 'Tokyo Station'), remember, it's a prefecture (province).

1. dollars
2. decent means a average joe working in a store selling stuff or a normal graphic designer can affort it without going bancrupt four times a month still getting good food.
3. i mean an appartment not in the highly expensive center, say if it was new jersey, a kind of place a teacher could affort..

1: That's $6,821.89 Brunesian dollars. If you choose to be a little less collectively narcissistic (or simply less lazy and learn how to use Google), then I might be able to give you a slightly more clear answer.
2: How about we just look at a typical dinner from T.G.I. Friday's then? - I'll walk out of their if I'm alone with a tab for about 2,000 yen (including one alcoholic drink)
3: In Tokyo you can find a 3DK for anywhere from 88,000 yen/month (around Nippori and Kita-Senju) up to well above 1,500,000 yen/month. Like any other city, it will depend on where you live.

Most foreigners who are single will rent an apartment with other foreigners since they usually get along easily and can understand each-others cultures. Those who do not rent apartments will most often than not rent rooms in guest-houses, which if you are doing a long-term stay, will mean a private room, not one of those bunk-bed rooms where you can hear your room-mates beating off. Similar to apartments, guest-house prices vary and can go from 20,000 yen (seriously, there's a couple around Futakotamagawa station for that price) and go up from there. The most expensive guest-house room I've seen was about 110,000 yen but the 'guest house' was just a large apartment complex and the 'room' was a large bachelor suite that was close to 60 meters square.
