Post download links in existing dead thread or start new thread?

I got my hands on an HD (1080) version of a hard to find movie (h4610 ori1413) and thought I'd share it on the forum. Just to contribute, I'm not profiting from posting links. There is an existing thread (https://www.akiba-online.com/threads/h4610-ori1413-shiho-tanizaki.1743458/) but the links are dead, OP hasn't logged on in over 2 years, and my version is better than the existing one. The video is also split into 2 parts due to the size, but I fixed the cut since the break was right in the middle of a scene.

Since I am posting a different version in a thread that is cluttered with dead links, details that aren't relevant to my upload, and several "Reuploaded" posts, does it make the most sense to just start a new thread for it? And do I need to reply warning OP considering they are no longer active? Like I said, I don't do this professionally so I'm just trying to avoid stepping on anyone's toes.

Post to the existing thread please,

there is still info on the original post that is valuable, it is the same for all threads,
on that thread, I removed all the other posts
