regional moral standards combined with U.S. DVD covers...

There are big differences in moral standards, don´t know whether reg. different U.S. states, at least in different countries. This for ex is reg. the presentation of nipples, are they allowed or not...

As ASM is providing DVD´s not only for the U.S. market there sometimes are different cover versions - just regarding those nipples...

There even may be one release indeed, but this one single release can have two different titles and even 4 different covers as well...

indeed this is going to become complicated...

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure most hentai companies sell DVD's with double sided covers. Giving the buyer a choice on which side to display in their collection.

I can´t tell exactly from here...

The Kitty Media and Anime18 DVD´s I´ve got don´t have a double side printed cover, the Anime18 ones have a grey cover inside though reporting about specials and the U.S. voice casts only. So there must be a reason for different covers. And not only the cover front is different, even the back has been retouched avoiding to show the critical parts.

Some titles didn't get double sided covers. It could have been due to time constraints or something. For example, JapanAnime had double sided covers for most their releases at first, but later on stopped.

ASM does a "hard" and "soft" cover for many of their releases, printed on the same insert. You can see it on their website.
Also, reviews on Mania.com (formerly AnimeOnDVD.com) will go into detail about the reversible covers in each review.

Packaging:
Yunagi takes the cover for the final volume with a great shot of her laying on the hospital bed in her uniform with it come off of her as she fondles herself. There are plenty of soft girlish colors and a simple background, so all the attention is on the character art which works just right. On the back cover, it provides a great shot of Yuu with her uniform falling off of her as well as a strip of explicit shots along the left. The production and technical information is par for the course for an ASM release in that it provides most of the needed details but not in a clean and orderly fashion. There's a lot of info here and the layout doesn't make it easy to find. While no insert is included in the release there is a reversible cover. The front cover is the same with the exception of it not having a pink foil along the logo while the back cover provides non-explicit images. It continues to be strange that the explicit version is what's actually sent out while the non-explicit one is reversed.
