Since Search is either broken, crippled or both in the current version of Akiba-Online, I've tried to use RSS as a substitute. The idea was that I could use the filters built into my RSS client to do the search that can no longer be done in Akiba-Online. Unfortunately, there's a problem with the way RSS has been implemented on the Akiba-Online website.
Akiba-Online limits the number of items returned in an RSS feed to an arbitrary 20. This may be fine for low activity forums, but simply doesn't works for forums where threads are added frequently and/or the rate of activity varies greatly over time. In these situations, the RSS client would need to update the feeds frequently to ensure no new items were missed. Of course, that means the RSS client needs to frequently "bang" the Akiba-Online server. Is that something Akiba-Online wants to encourage?
Akiba-Online needs to remove the arbitrary 20 item limit and replace it with something conventional and user friendly. For example: a forum feed could return all threads added in the last 24 hours. Akiba-Online's current implementation is so puzzling, I consider it a bug.
