I almost wish Idols would have the same amount of work their JAV counterparts do, you know? Sometimes three titles a month from an Idol?
Idols seem to be getting less, and Idols seem to have a short life span
This might be a little off topic since this thread is about November releases but reading these two comments really hurts me and I just have to say I feel the same and share your frustration Casshern. It is so strange that not only do Gravure Idols release at a much slower rate than JAV stars, their life span is also vastly shorter. In a lot of cases they disappear after only a year. Look at Mikuni Saran and Fujimoto Ayami, both idols came out sprinting and quickly became two of my favorites and vanished after a year. One offs are also common, like Honda Makoto.
It is also weird since in the past Idols would start off conservative and may or may not venture into more daring content. But nowadays it seems, like with Saran and Ayami, they go hard right out the gate and blow my mind with their performance and then go MIA.
I think there are many reasons why. First, it seems that the government is getting stricter with their censorship laws and this has inadvertently affected the Idol industry since a lot of the appeal is NOT having to censor and now theres less ways for the girls to creatively clothe themselves. This not only hurt sales but also drives girls that would have debuted as Chakuero Idols to JAV since the new regulations does not affect JAV. Second, is the problem of variety. I fear that the problem with multiple releases in a month is not burnout but rather the videos becoming samey and becoming boring to viewers. However, I think this is not as big an issue and is just a problem of directors not being creative. After all, in JAV one star can have multiple Vanilla/Nakadashi/Whatever releases and no one seems bored of it. Julia mostly does safe Vanilla stuff and she is still going strong. I don't see why Gravure Idols cannot do the same. I know I wan't be bored watching 3 videos of Ayami in a month.
TL;DR: Yes, Casshern, I know.
