Plot:
An aspiring writer in the Bakumatsu era who hopes to produce a volume of 100 Ghost Stories in his travels about Japan meets and is drawn into friendship and participation with a trio of enterprising outsiders and petty criminals whose specialties aid them in unraveling apparently supernatural crimes and bringing the guilty parties to their just rewards.
In this first film, the team face a mystery surrounding a murderer who has been executed at least three times by beheading, but keeps returning from the grave to strike again.
