What happened to "Extreme" JAV videos?

I've been wondering this for awhile and I've read around a lot on the internet but I cannot really find an answer. I've noticed starting early last year that practically all of the major JAV producers have stopped making "extreme" JAV movies. What I mean by "extreme" what many would call disgusting such as films with scat smearing, insects, etc. Even studios such as OPERA which for a long time produced nothing but scat vids have stopped producing all togather any scat material. Many studios still producing pooping videos but anything more than that does not exist anymore with the exception of the producer "Otsuka Floppy". SOD a few months about added a new film to their MASD series... and it was VERY tame compared to their previous titles in the series.

Has the law somewhere changed in Japan? I find each month with new titles that the JAV industry is becoming more and more like North American porn. Has there been some paradigm shift in the JAV industry that I've missed?

Any answer would be greatly appreciated!

There are still many being produced, published and distributed. I'm surprised they aren't on here already. One fetish that is becoming more and more popular here is bestiality which is banned from this board. A walk to the local DVD shop pops out nearly a dozen DVD's released just this month with that one particular genre.

I was wondering rather the same about the "black" gal videos that seem to be showing up more frequently lately.(which I like, so it's good for me) Are they getting popular, or are members just posting more recently?

The thing you have to remember here is that we are not seeing the supply and demand market as it exists at the source, rather the likes of the uploaders.

If a few prolific posters like a certain genre, you are suddenly going to see a lot of that type, and might seem like it's currently popular. If they stop posting it can seems like that type isn't being produced anymore.
So it's hard to get a true view of what is going on in the JAV market.

I do realize this board is not a true reflection of the JAV industry... but honestly I check DMM, Ludus, Duga and many of the producers main pages at least twice a month and I find this "extreme" material is not what it once was.

If I take for example the "scat" fetish... JAV scat films today are simply girls just pooping or pooping on a guy. It seems the "extreme" lesbian scat films or "scat bukkake" films with girls are now a thing of the past ...

Surely these films are still profitable ... it just seems like JAV has had an "awakening" since the outlawing of "r***" films ... it just seems so much more tame and less oppressive on women ... which sadly is what I like most about it.

What is this 'outlawing' ? Sorry I don't keep with news, were there some new privacy/censorship laws passed in Japan?

I haven't had a chance to follow the extreme movie production here in Japan for about a year and a half so I might not be the best person to answer. It's been getting harder to distribute underage stuff here, recently there's been quite a few notable arrests of producers and distributors. As for the major producers of scat, vomit and beast play, I am not sure why there hasn't been anything. Opera and Dogma used to be the major producers here after SOD went soft (well, they went mainstream).

Opera, SOD and Dogma have a good reputation in the industry, the follow the laws and treat the girls fairly, and also pays comparatively well wages to the models and actresses.

There were a few other companies that tried to break in to the extreme scat genre, like Bakky, but they have a much worse reputation and are not at all very pleasant to work with.

I have a friend who is an actress in the scat/forced fellatio/rough sex genre and she told me recently that wages are still getting lowered month after month and there's just not enough money in it any more, so recently she is only doing lolita/OL standard videos with reputable companies. Her last scat movies were as the OP pointed out, rather tame, shitting in some dudes mouth.

I'll see if I can get more info from someone with better connections though.
