Scantily-clad women and Hong Kong action excess collide in Women on the Run, a harrowing adult action picture from directors Corey Yuen and David Lai. Tarmara Guo stars as a Mainland Chinese girl who hightails it for Hong Kong after her evil boyfriend turns her into a drug-addicted prostitute. Hong Kong isn't much nicer to her, but she befriends an undercover cop (Fariney Cheung), who enlists her to return to China to track a brutal drug smuggler (Kim Won Jin). However, betrayal, tragedy, and brutal circumstance await the women, who eventually flee to Canada, beaten and demoralized. But that isn't the end for them - they regroup and return to Hong Kong with only one thing on their minds: revenge. Bone-crunching violence and over-the-top Category III excess have earned Women on the Run a notorious reputation among Hong Kong Cinema fans who think girls with guns are the sexiest thing ever.
