An Akiba-Online Premiere! (...according to Search)

This is funny. Now, I know it is only the internet and the hobby we enjoy is less than honorable and it isn't unheard of and practically expected that someone eventually ends up passing your work as their own or for someone to fall prey to others that pass your work as their own and blah blah blah. This, however, just sticks out like a sore thumb on fire waving a flag that says HEY LOOK AT THIS!

What am I talking about? AVOP-445 and AVOP-416. I provided those titles yesterday as SD presentations on The Library as a request. I put them there and not here because I wouldn't have grabbed them for myself otherwise and didn't feel like using up more bandwidth to get them up on FileJoker as well to satisfy our requirements. Lazy, I know. Now, I find my very copies here on this board unceremoniously repackaged, repurposed, and redistributed to suit someone else's purpose, with zero credit as to where they actually came from or who released them into the wild for all to enjoy. Crazy thing is I use the same handle with the same screenshots both here and in The Library so it is obvious to anyone visiting both sites that the source is one and the same, yours truly. At least now the title are here for everyone! Even though I wasn't going to do it, I'm glad someone did.

Well...that's the internet! For anyone that grabs it...enjoy what I made available to the world! It just goes to show how this whole game works. Hell, sites like jappydolls (Idol titles), t2jav (JAV titles), jpvporn (VR titles), they all end up posting what I've provided as their own. And, please, for those that have the urge to respond to this saying things like I'm posting this just to credit for things, you would be relatively new here to think that way. For those that have been here long enough and know me, that's not what this is about. I just think it's funny is all. I would have put this in all CAPS on those two threads if I was mad about it.

With a backlog of 5000+ downloads, I am in no rush to download anything and would rather have it at a host that I like more, even if it takes a while to get re-posted, even with the risk that it may not happen and I end up missing it.

I sure have seen your posts here and some of the titles caught my attention. For these I have put in place recurrent programmatic searches to alert me when they appear anywhere else on the internet, in case they appear at a torrent or better host - I also don't use these sites 3 you mentioned.

Wow! Just to ask, that would make you a collector and not a watcher, yes? I have accumulated perhaps close to that number over the course of years and admittedly have never had the time to watch every single one!

This intrigues me! You're a programmer and have created something to scrape data from various sites looking for titles that suit your sourcing needs? Explain that further if you would, that sounds interesting.

If I'm correct the end take away from your post is that for the mass consumers out there, it dosen't matter (because really they don't care!) how a title ends up where they can get it, so long as they can get, whether by torrent or preferred host?

I have been downloading more than I can watch, but I plan to switch that around soon. Most of it is going to be deleted, only the best of the best shall remain. I try to organize very meticulously what I keep too.

Yes, I have a tool that visits thousands of pages, many times per day, looking for content.

For anime, there are speed fansubs and quality fansubs. The speed fansubs often "steal" from each other and the people who watch don't care about who was behind it, how it was done or what standards were upheld. One hypothesis is that for them it is more important to watch it while all of their peers are watching too, so they can comment on it and not be left behind/be excluded from the conversation, which is all they care. In the case of JAV, that probably does not apply, and, if I had to guess, the previews and hosts offered are the foremost influences in what sites people choose.
