JAV Translation

I have enquired to JAVtoENG about a translation of FAJS-035 and he has come back to me and told me he is willing to translate the movie for $40(4 scenes at $10/scene). Looking at his suggested payment method above through his Fiverr account it would take only 8 of us paying $5 each(hell, if there are 40 of us we could do it for a dollar each). Is anyone else interested in having this movie translated?

Hm, maybe it would be helpful and nice to have a site where you can vote for movies. Of course you only can vote if you willing to pay. And you can't vote for as much movies as you're willing to pay.
Means if you vote for 10 movies you also should be able to pay for all 10. You can't vote and hope only 1 movie will get enough votes because maybe all get enough votes. So it is like making an offer e.g. on eBay.

By the way: I had a look at the translation file JAVtoENG did as an example. Maybe it would be good for the process if some other people read it (as some kind of QA) before releasing it. I found at least one part - maybe more - which I have my doubts if it is proper English (It's not my mother tongue, but it sounds odd). Same goes for the Romanji version of Japanese terms.

But all in all I think this is the first more serious offer for subs.

how about if i converted the jav's movies to mp3(only voice) and send to u to translate it ( u dont need to download the movies)
cause i am only need japanese voice to text only.....
for others like edit.modifying in subtitleeditor , all i can do...


and how about the price..

i hope it can be cheapessstttt............

Please, no social networks. I would prefer this forum for communication or a dedicated site (like winterkaze proposed in the How come few JAV have English subtitles thread).

Isn't it better / easier to have audio and video if you do a translation? Especially if they point to something.

ok forum first.......

I think audio only better than full movies download...
it fast and easy....we can crop easily dialogue we need and not waste time
just hear the mp3 file and typing in notepad to translate....

I guess it would be faster to download just a MP3 than a whole movie. But there are no MP3s, so someone has to download the movie and create a MP3 of it.
I still think that it is better also to see the situation for creating a good translation. There are reasons why the audio of a movie is different than the audio book / audio drama as you have to explain much more as the audience can't see it. Means many things are not explained if you have the visuals / the video track.
Just my 50 cents.

hmmmm... that would maybe be ok... but I would not do anything like “kimochi” “sugoi” or “iku” bucause it would be really hard to time after.

so, if it is a scene with an intro, or acting, I could maybe do that for $5. but I would rather have the video than just an mp3 because it helps to understand what they are talking about sometimes

Actually!! I thought of another way:

If you know how to make the subtitle file and do the timing...

you could make it first with the 'xxx' as a placeholder then send it And the video to me! Then I would know what you want and I wouldn't have to make the timings - I could just change the words in the file!!
