Ah, okay, I thought it is maybe a problem in my end. Thanks, Ceewan and pa55ion, for confirming it.

yes.
again one of our frontend-server is offline (again! and again the same one)
so your browser will try one of the ips for some time, and then switch to the other one, if the first one is not responding.
- thus it's a very laggy loading :/

@chompy is already notified (one on Friday Night, one around 10hours ago)
so he should either remove the ip from the DNS (which i can't do) and/or getting in contact with the DC to solve this.
but until now - no response :/

as i already said i would like to do this automatically, but with the DNS-Server used atm it's not possible :/

Hm, after Ceewan posted and I read his post the thread is now finally shown as read. Maybe it's a synchronization problem between the servers...

that's some strange thing >.<
going to look into this later this day.

The 2 Servers should sync with a max of 10ms in theory.
probably one of the backend-servers just freaked out by s.th. i don't know :/

I was visiting that topic too. And though I didn't have the problems CodeGeek had, Ceewans post on 9/21 2:56 showed up when I looked at it shortly after he posted, but tylersailer's post on 9/22 2:07 didn't show for me until this morning.

Today I couldn't access the forum a few times. I could ping it, but HTTP and HTTPS didn't work (the browser tried to connect, but quit after some time with a timeout message).
There are several sites on the web which should that AO was online and that they could access it. I even tried to different providers (mobile Internet as well as Internet at home).

well - a bit strange that you could actually ping our frontend-servers since the whole datacenter went offline for a few hours :/
nothing i could do there - except finding another host for backup which can handle the traffic ^^

I think I saw on Alexa you rate in the top 400 sites, in Japan (top 4000 overall). Getting popular again......must drive Chomps crazy. It is really due a lot to the staff though, you guys deserve a bonus.

Any specific link to it? There's lots of "main" JAV section on the forum and all seem fine to me(now at least).

a lot of spammers lately

More images attach to the posts
More traffic to be used
More difficult to access the forum
desioner ask all uploaders attach images to the posts, don't allow any image host any more in the torrent section

what are you trying to say, the title says forum bugs, that looks like a spam rant to me

Or maybe have a recommended imagehost just like in direct download we have filejoker.

I believe I had something to that affect myself before. It would solve a lot of problems, as long as the option to also host images at Akiba-Online was on the table. Even a list of acceptable imagehosts wouldn't be a bad idea but a sponsorship agreement with an imagehost would be better for everyone involved.

imagehosts, this is the most simplest of rules

you can post images using any imagehost you want, the only rule there is, NO POP UPS, or UNDERS, and no cash links, (been a rule since day 1) it is that simple

and how many imagehosts are now on your Cash Link & Banned Links/ Hosts? just how often do you need to "adjust" the list by either adding or subtracting from it? How many imagehost links that are reported do you have to take your valuable time to check to see if they violate the rules? Of all the "pay per click" imagehosts that uploaders use how much of that goes to support the forum?

Simple does not always mean efficient. If an imagehost sponsored Akiba-Online in the way that FileJoker does that would make it easier for the staff, easier to decide if a post is breaking the rules and possibly even easier to afford a better server (if needed) and/or additional software updates to improve the forum (such as more effective spam control, for example).

I am just saying it is something to seriously consider and not to easliy dismiss the idea. All banter aside, it really doesn't affect me at all as I host all my images here at Akiba-Online.

in order of asking

no idea how many on the list, as new ones come online everyday, that is why the rule was written no pop ups or unders, so that it covers everything, no cash links covers the rest

very rarely imagehosts respond to our requests, so not many get removed (if anything more get added)

quite a few get reported on a regular basis, (at least 1 daily)

we get no money from imagehosters

as far as I am aware there are no imagehosters that fulfil our requests to sponsor us

yes it is far better to host images here, and use the thumbnail system if posting multiple pictures
