Seems like in the really early videos (early 80s I think, when VHS and Betamax came out) they didn't do mozic censoring and almost all the scenes where nakadashi, like no-one used condoms.

I think I've seen those porn from 80s but I'm not sure those are japanese, I remember very few about it ... could be taiwanese or cantonese ... or could be dub

If @fenton is referring to those HK cantonese adult films from the 80s, censorship is not required. I have not seen one adult film whereby they show the bottom half body genitals. All they did during intercourse was to rub each other. Don't think any penetration was involved. Only the breasts were seen. Not sure if this is considered porn. But to me I don't think so. More of Parental Guidance (PG) level and can be shown in movies. Some of the cantonese movies have hot and pretty looking stars (quite mature looking). I lost quite a huge amout of my commandos to a normal sex scene in a HK film. Am beginning to be out of the subject title already..

Don't know about taiwanese adult films though.

I only remember Akira Watase,Jun Kusanagi,Nao Oikawa and Ran Asakawa. Ran Asakawa's FF7 cosplay was legendary.

Older JAV stars are way more natural,and have a unique charm compare to today's generic plastic ones.

I think today's AV girl who do plastic surgery still not many, most of them are natural, however they are wearing more makeups and looks less like japanese compare to their senior

Indeed they are wearing more make up to look more attractive and since there is more competition now, they don't have a choice.

yes I'm familiar with HongKong Cat III movies, you're right its disputable ... surely its can be categorized as softcore but not hardcore

its long time ago, so not many that I can remember, its hardcore (uncenssored and I can see genitals and BJ & penetration), I think (not sure) the language are not japanese, I've wrote before I can't tell its japanese or not

in the past was common for dubbed porn, example those scandinavian (mostly danish) was dubbed in german language, many people thought those are german's porn, so I guess this could happened to asian's porn too

I just checked xrodent, I seen some old japanese vids, so yes there are some uncenssored vids there from VHS BETAMAX era, did not recognize the girls ... so yeah maybe those vids came from before censsorship rule applied or maybe at that time a lot of uncenssored leaked to market ?

I admit I was sitting and viewing this with no pants on.
The scenes let me peak, and peak, without spurting. Without understanding a word of Japanese spoken, I knew what was going on with this video.

This is a great early 21st Century AV. Go get it. The DVD cover may read R2, but the DVD within is all regions.

I just could not clutter up a previous thread with this.
So here that is.
There were a number of uncensored AVs in the early 1980s released - but, released in the U.S.A. by an outfit known as "ORCHIDS INTERNATIONAL" (please excuse the caps ~ but this is significant). I don't have the book handy - and I am certain the concern has gone out of business since 1985(?) - but it was in Monterey Park, CA.
The justification for shooting uncensored AV in the early 1980s was that these videos were for private home viewing only. As such, its producer felt he did not have to submit these photoplays to Eirin. But, as I am sure you can realize, censorship bodies react stridently to attempts to bypass them. Eirin asserted it needed to inspect everything intended for Japanese residents, regardless of whether it was for public display in a theater, or for private home viewing.
The scores of Orchids International videos which were released in the U.S.A. were reviewed in Robert Rimmer's X-Rated Videotape Guide (1985). These are, truly, the holy grail

for people seeking early Japanese Adult Videos.
