This is such a great thread. I've seen the posts about aspect ratio problems and the like. VLC handles it well if you tell it to view as 16:9. I use it to stream/browse titles before downloading. And the ones that I think are worth it (they should ALL be!) I encode certain scenes from them to 60fps. The picture is only as good as the source, but the fluid motion makes everything jiggle how it should if you know what I mean. Anyone care to see a sample? I would of course post as a different discussion thread as to not hijack this awesome work in progress...

Okay, HERE is a sample. Hope it appeals to at least some.

This is the greasemonkey script I found that gives you a download link at the top of the page when looking at a movie.

Doesn't work for me, I have 2 issues:

Firefox treat it like a text file instead of executing it. Sorry for being a baka, but how you execute a javascript from within Firefox? OOOH I figured it out, greasemonkey is an add-on not a person.

I'm no expert on Java, but it seems there are some syntax errors in the code.

Above line seem very problematic, I'm guessing it's something like:

and then there are still unmatched braces at the end. Are you missing some of the code? newTag1 and newTag2 seem to be undeclared and undefined.

Would be fantastic if you could get the code to work. :cheer:

I figured a workaround fix for the script. After spending 1 hour learn about Greasemonkey and generally fooling around. I hacked the "Hello World" script to do the job for me.

Save above text as agogotv_link.user.js, open the file in Firefox (assuming you have installed Greasemonkey already), then everytime you open a page on Agogo of a video, a little dialog box pops up, you can highlight the link, press Ctrl-C on your keyboard to copy it to clipboard, then click OK, then you can paste it to the address bar.

Sorry I didn't fix it completely to way it's supposed to work. Maybe someone who actually know how to hack can do it for us.

Just checking in and saying it works.

As I'm here I have a tiny contribution - a problem but a solution too :
Pretty much everything I download this way is unplayable, apart from "some" secionds or minutes at the start. Somehow my downloads get screwed up in some WMV frames or index.
But this tool : http://www.videohelp.com/tools/AsfBin is able to fix everything I had problems with so far. Pretty intuitive to use. It's very quick - it doesn't reencode the whole thing, just reads the downloaded WMV file and spits out a fixed ASF file in the location you choose. Probably takes about a minute or so.

agogo has really slowed down in DL speed:puzzled:

havent used it in a while and now it's so slow:notagain:

I try today but it was not working for me. It has been working before.

I did yesterday. During certain times of the day the dl speed is cut dramatically, basically making it impossible to download anything. Try at a different time of day
