That was one hell of a find, Mr. Mago!

JS-006.jpg
This "28-year-old" looks like she has the weight of the world upon her

The actress was uncredited in the reference sources I've checked... the only mention we have of the provided name was from JavLibrary. (When I put the raw Japanese into the translator, I got "The document ultimate year of the difference between husband and wife 37-year-old difference (a pseudonym) Takeshi Shimoda 65-year-old Reina 28-year-old.")

"Shimoda" has not been paired with "Reina," but with "Takeshi." I am wondering, did you get this name from a good source? More importantly, the name in the title may not be the name of the actress, but the name of the movie's character (as they put it, a "pseudonym.") There is a chance this actress could have an entirely different name (perhaps "Reina" is a match with her stage name), and it is possible she could have appeared in other movies.

Hi, Mr. Mago... it's hard for me to use Arzon, with the language barrier (DMM is different, I'm kind of used to it by now; I'm getting used to Minnano-AV, too), but if you give the site high marks, maybe I'll start checking its information more. (Doesn't look like we can search via DVD codes, unfortunately.)

I'm still not sure of "Reina Shimoda," now that you've written "Takeshi Shimoda" is the name of the movie's husband. JAV reference sites have been known to take the name of "character names" from titles, for use as the actual actress name.

Hello Guyverzero; we can never be sure what is real and what is fake in porn, but JAV has a tendency to brag about featuring women from regular walks of life. Sometimes I believe they don't always lie. I can imagine in at least some of these "real announcer" movies the women could easily have been involved in news broadcasting. (But... which actresses.)

The search changed a few days ago, now you have to use JS006 instead of JS-006.

I wish this cute whore had done more than one movie. Good on her for her only release being a bukkake one though!

Rina Nishihara sure is a fresh-faced beauty. Her two movies were released a year ago... doesn't look good, but who knows; she may resurface again.

still hoping she will comeback under different stage name, need to check new comers more carefully ;)

"I wish this cute whore had done more than one movie. Good on her for her only release being a bukkake one though!"

It would appear Haruka Kitagawa has appeared in at least two other JAVs released in July-August of 2012. She is quite attractive; her other starring role (MIGD-432, pictured below) also claimed she was a real TV reporter... making me wonder if there may have been some truth to that claim.

I wish you would not use the demeaning word "whore," Samurai79; I cringed the first time you had done that. I don't think the warrior class you come from, priding themselves on a tradition of honor, would approve.

If anyone thinks, well, both get paid for sex so what is the difference, you will find at least the California Supreme Court disagreeing with you.

Randazza explained that the differentiation between pornography and prostitution generally refers back to a 1988 California Supreme Court case, People v Freeman. The Freeman decision basically found that although porn performers are ostensibly paid to have sex, they really aren't; first, they are paid for appearing in a film.

Another basic tenet Freeman established is the direction of payment. Porn stars aren't doing prostitution, according to the California Supreme Court, because they are paid by a third party rather than by the person they are having sex with. OK, so then wouldn't that cover garden-variety pimps and madams? Well, no.

Apparently, professionalism plays a big role in the legal differentiation between paying for sex and paying for the chance to have sex on camera.

If you look up "whore" in any dictionary, I am pretty sure it will say something about a woman who is being paid for sex. I am only using the word most relevant to the situation.

Google's quick definition once you enter the word "whore":

Whore.jpg

A porn actress should not automatically be viewed in the category of a prostitute; it's possible she may enter the business because she is a frustrated actress and cannot make it in "legitimate" cinema; she may want to be famous; she may just like sex. The money she is paid may not be her primary incentive; it would be something she receives that comes along with the ride. (See "Spoiler: Relevant Excerpt" in my prior post as to how the distinction is made in at least one legal jurisdiction.)

A porn actress is an actress first; an actress who also indulges in sex. (Not every scene in a porno is a sex scene.) Some are pretty good actresses, too. Hollywood actresses also have sex scenes. Some big name ones have indulged in actual intercourse, for the sake of their art. Few would agree that these actresses had prostitution in mind.

There was a Merriam-Webster definition further down the page which went, "A woman who engages in sexual acts for money." So, yes, you can use the word "whore." But if you look at the first line from Google's quick definition, as reproduced above, you may read, "noun: derogatory." The question then becomes why you prefer to choose such a mean word, to describe actresses who work in pornography. (If it's so important for you to equate porn actresses with prostitution, you could use the not-so-mean word, "prostitute.")

When someone uses such a word to imply the human who is being addressed belongs in the gutter, what is in short such a dehumanizing word (although... as the cliché goes... aren't we all whores?) comes across as the user wishing to make himself seen as holier, or morally superior. Then it becomes hypocritical for you to be watching pornography.

Since you obviously enjoy porn, perhaps you should be grateful there are such ladies who sacrifice so much to provide you with your fix. They are human beings no less than you or I, and there is no need to put them down.

For those interested, again, the first time I opined on this matter.

EDIT:
Those interested, I wanted to share this YouTube video with porn actress (and now, unbeknownst to me, ex-porn actress) Bree Olson's revelations on the great price she has paid for working in the industry... in dealing with the hostile moralists who will forever ostracize her, just so they may feel smugly superior. Watching her is heartbreaking.

Equally sad are many of the voices in the comments section, so completely devoid of compassion and so intent on judging her for committing the unpardonable sin of publicly engaging in a business that involves sex. Look at the ones who keep crowing that she made a terrible decision, and now she must live with the consequences, as though she deserves a life that can never be normal. Yet if it wasn't for women who made the decision to "go porn," for whatever reason, these petty examples of the human condition would be the first to be unhappy about not having their porn to jack off to. (Thanks to Ghostbird, for bringing the video to my attention.)

I think part of the problem is that people in the (J)AV industry tend to call the female performers whores, too - at least on camera. To me, western porn always had that "degrading women" aspect to it (I don't know how to phrase that properly). In fact, I still remember a scene where, after the guy came, there was this brief conversation between him and the actress (still as part of the scene) and it ended with the guy asking something like "so, what are you?" and the actress replying "'I'm a cock-loving bitch, daddy". Not that JAV is much better. You can often see "slut" in the title of films, and JavLibrary even has a slut category. This just makes people think that it's okay to call them whores, I think. I mean, people are obviously influenced by what they see in media, and I should know... after watching Angel, I dressed like David Boreanaz for a year! :D

Having lived in Japan for well over a decade, I can tell you....the girls doing porn in Japan are whores. They are doing it for the sole aim of making money, not because they want to be "actresses"!
