Hello, I recently stumbled upon some JAV that I wanted to watch but whose torrents have died. So I figured maybe I can buy them. Not being somebody who can read Japanese, a lot of the sites were dead to me. I tried Amazon.co.jp, but it said it couldn't deliver to the US. So how do you go about buying JAV DVDs and getting them into the States?

Well i have experience buying from a Japan site. It's pretty easy actually.
You fill out order online, he gives you a receipt, you send International money order, he gets it, he finds your titles and he sends them.
