Can AV directors choose to have sex with the actresses?

I don't know much about the industry, but I always wondered if the AV directors get to choose to have sex with the AV actresses.

I mean, for a small or medium studio, after the girls are recruited, who decides who gets to have sex? If the girls are already paid, will they make a scene with the director if he asks them to? And are the videos ambient and directed according to the director and the staff, or the actresses have a say in their own videos?

There are no complaints? Of course everything has been discussed and agreed before, but can the actress decline? Let's say, me (a mexican gaijin) has enough money to set up a small studio, I manage to hire for 5 videos a cute and busty japanese girl, then I say to her I want to make a scene with her in each video, in the way I like (I choose the ambient, outfits, dialogue, scenes, etc), so because she's under a contract, she has to agree, right?

Manuel Ferrara said that pro studios never improvise something during the shooting EXCEPT if the actress asks to try something. So, if the director wasn't supposed to appear in the movie, he will not.

In Japan, they have a manager (I think) so they have a meeting with the manager and the director. They talk about the movie and what the girl is ok to do or not. I guess the director gives her the name of the actor and asks if she agrees to work with him or not.

If the studio is doing everything right, the girl knows everything about the movie before the shooting. If there is something she doesn't want to do, it's deleted or changed to something else.
I agree that most AV actors are ugly. Very few are normal/fine looking.

I would assume most actresses like in the western industry, has a list of who they will and will not work with. If they don't want to work with an actor or director, they really can't be forced to do it unless you want a bunch of legal issues, and people not wanting to work for you because you forced them into things they didn't want.

Why can't they refuse? They can definitely refuse to not have sex with who they don't want to, that's bad business if you try and make them.
