Censored vs Uncensored

Hi,
I know about the Japanese law which forbids to sell uncensored porn in Japan.
However, many studios make only uncensored movies. I guess these studios are established in US in order to not be sued, but there are many points I don't get:

- They obviously make the movie in Japan, and sell it to Japanese people (site are in Japanese, movies are not subtitled...). Why aren't they sued by Japanese government?
- Actresses seem to be quite "stuck" with the genre. I mean: the most famous uncensored actresses rarely make censored movies (or vice versa). Is there a reason why an actress will choose to do uncensored porn rather than censored?

Not worth the gov't's time to sue a foreign entity. I don't believe it even works that way. Legal or not, provided everyone consented to the shoot, uncensored JAV is victimless.

Also you have to realize that all JAV is uncensored when it's shot. Even censored studios have uncensored masters that need editing first.

Per actresses, not all want the fame being in censored may bring. Also agencies take a huge cut. Believe it or not, censored or not, most actresses just want to make money and if UC offers an easier and faster path, they'll do it. They're just a performer. It's not like the contract says "UNCENSORED" on it.

Uncensored actress generally are less pretty. The breath of their looks and the storyline is limited. But I do like the uncensored onsen orgy genre.

@Inertia Thanks for all the details! Do you mean actresses who perform in censored movies can be more famous?

@hooters666 : I don't know. I think there are very beautiful girls and less beautiful in both. Some years back, I was a big fan of Hiyori Shiraishi who made a lot of uncensored (BTW, I know some of her movies exist in both versions: censored and uncensored (not MR)).

The problem is there has been very, very few big budget group uncensored titles made recently. The samples posted above are very old.

Is there any site that has data on the uncensored videos? Where I can browse through different genres etc.? I find it very hard to find something like a database for them, unlike censored

IF the overseas site is targeting the Japanese market to sell uncensored content the Japanese government can act against the site operator and the actress/actors.
Obiusly is everone is ourside Japan it is difficult for the Japanese gov to act but if any of this people come to Japan they are in risk to be arrested.

If An actress films with an uncensored studio there is a high chance that the studios that film censored content will never contract this actress again.
That is why big Japanese actress usually do not take the risk to do so or do it at the end of their carrier in Japan.

Seems like in the past it was much more common for JAV actresses to do both censored and uncensored, such as Hibiki Otsuki and Yui Hatano.
