Couple kissa/Happening bars in Tokyo

Hi I was wondering if anyone had a review of some places around the greater Tokyo area. My gf wants to try one out. My main concern is the sanitary conditions and safety. There are some really shady looking places. We just want a place where we can go and drink, maybe watch come couples and have people watch us.

Anyone have any experiences?

Trendy, traditional, or popular?

Tokyo (& Yokohama) is like many other urban metropolises. You can find all sorts of nightclubs, bars, pubs, & lounges.

I wouldn't think that those sites would have reviews of those sorts of places

I'd say google ハプニングバー東京 and see where it takes you... Use your judgment to evaluate the results; even if you can't read Japanese, browsing the Concept, System, and Photo BBS links on the establishments' websites can tell you a lot about quality. Look for clean presentation, clear photos, past and present activity on BBS - without overrating it - and so on. It's a start in differentiating business from the "shady looking places" you're worried about.

There're a couple I think that are gaijin friendly. One called Opera has an English website.
