Daily automated downloading by genre

So was just thinking. Galactus is getting tired of looking at covers and titles to determine which video to watch. Gotta be a better way! So are there any automated systems for checking some database of recently uploaded files, compare them to what you are looking for, download that video, profit???

I envision: Enter keyword such as Actress Name, Studio, Genre tag> Click start > Searches DB for all new uploads for that day that fit the search > begins download of torrent > enjoy!

Getting the titles/tags isn't hard, automating the download from the various torrent sites shouldn't be tough. Am I just late to the party and there are already well established apps or scripts for this?

If not, what would it take exactly? I know there are more than a few folks here that know the answer!

just use advanced search in website so you can combined many tag into it
i dont like this idea
because webdata system is really stupid these day .
lots of mistake because they use low salary-man for input the data
and i dont belive that scripts can find what i really want
its worst of the worst .
so why do you need so many movies without watching cover or trailer ?
for selling ? or .,.

Ho ho ho!

Am I not the only one that looks over all of the daily released video covers, making note of the attractiveness of the actress, as well as the story, genre, and the like before I decide to download and watch it?

Let's use Javjunkies as an example of how many vids are released for consumption per day. Checking for July there were 355 webpages containing 10 videos per webpage. Typically there are two versions of the vids posted, one will be high resolution/larger file size, and the other lower resolution/smaller file size. Of course there are exceptions, such as vids that don't have both, but for simplicity sake, let's just divide the number of vids in half.

355 pages, 10 vids per page, divide in half, gets us roughly 3,550/2=1,775 vids for the month of July.

60 videos on average per DAY!

It pains me to say this hobby, as enjoyable as it can be, is a waste of time, so I won't say that. Instead I will just say that I would like to automate this so that I don't have to look at every video cover and title to find the particular types of vids I like most. What ya think?

So considering automation is apparently not of interest to many others, what methods do you ladies and gentlemen use to sift through what you want to watch?

I've actually been looking into this myself. I was wondering if there was some sort of way to get sonarr or a similar program set up to automatically pull certain genres, or at least give me a daily list of what's new and I can just tick off the ones I want.

I'm in the middle of slapdashing together a youtube downloader for my unraid server at the moment as I can't seem to find any that function the exact way I want, so I decided to go the "blackjack and hookers" route and make my own. Been a long while since I've done any web-dev type of stuff so progress is slow. I've considered automating my JAV downloads as the next project after this, if I can't find a pre-existing solution that works well.

Sounds like a plan? I've heard of Bonarr, which apparently isn't being developed any longer. Not sure if it would have been a solution. I am sure there is a way to do this, I just don't know the proper tools. It might be in our best interest to dig into the appropriate reddit subs and ask about this. A similar sort of request is being done for non-JAV, so shouldn't be too difficult to make this work. I just don't have the time to sift through all of this content for the few gems worth watching. And it would keep me from getting distracted by the enticing covers in genre's that don't interest me as much. It's rare that anything out of my favorite genre will not be deleted after fast forwarding through it.

If I find a workable solution, I will hopefully remember to share what I find.

Stashapp, Radarr, Jackett, RSS feeds, are where I would start to look to see if it can be ported to JAV. There might need to be some level of manual work, but I think most of the heavy lifting is already done. Not sure why Bonarr, the porn version of Radarr/Sonarr isn't around, AFAIK, any more.

Looks like Stash is the best lead. There is a Discord, and all that. There are community scrapers as well, and info on how to set up your own and such and so forth. I will gradually look into this more as I have time.

Not sure how any software can do a proper job of downloading by genre, when the only objective piece of data to identify genres are those javlibrary genre tags, which in turn only tag about half the videos containing the theme that the tag corresponds to. In short, because of the incompleteness of the tagging, there doesn't seem to be any way around examining each box cover. Unless you don't mind missing half the stuff you're interested in.

I don't buy your premise of the genre tags missing half of the stuff you are interested in, assuming what you are interested in isn't so niche it doesn't get tagged accurately or at all, or it is less a genre and more of a scene.

ex. if I am looking for a tag of wife, I am going to get a lot of hits, and if I do miss 15% or more of what I would might find by hand, that is a small price to pay for not having to sift through a bunch of bondage, no budget straight sex, lesbian, etc. it seems to me. I find that NTR gets tagged accurately, and then one needs to look at the cover to tell if it will be the kind of thing that might be up your alley. I would welcome some tool for sifting through the chaff so I could handpick from there.

Bonarr would have worked but development stopped - if there were an alternative to that you'd just plug it into a stash app instance running on a server. Would be a cool setup, I have stash setup but don't have the auto-downloader.
