I gave 168x a try, I like quite a few things about it. The web site is a clone of thzla, minus the mad ads, very easy to get used to (and to scrap
). Their release schedule seems to track new releases as well but not exactly duplicate thzla so hopefully they would complement each other. Watermark is good, quality is good. Each releasess comes with frame grabs which helps a lot for picking vids.
But one minus is that file size. Do all their vids encode at 6400+ kbps? That's more than 50% larger than thzla. Is it really necessary? I find thzla rips pretty ok, 50% larger seems a little bloated.
Yeah... come to think of it, seems every aspect is better than thzla except the bloated encode. What do you guys do about it, if anything? Worth to re-encode at 4000+ bitrate or 5000+ bitrate? Or just invest in storage and forgittabouit.
Hope they go steady.
