Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid will lead his second effort of 2012 to push Internet-regulating legislation, this time in the form of a new cybersecurity bill. The expected bill is the latest attempt by the Democrats to broadly expand the authority of executive branch agencies over the Internet.

Reid favors an approach that would expand DHS authority beyond currently regulated “critical infrastructure,” such as utilities and financial institutions, to also include Internet service providers and private networks.

DHS recently announced a decision to hire 1,000 new cyber experts.

This is how you can tell which issues politicians actually believe in and what they just say to get votes. If they don't believe in then they will only try to pass it once and you won't hear another peep about it.If they want something then they will try numerous times to pass it and may even resort to watering it down or passing it in pieces. This is why people should actually pay attention to what their elected officials are doing and why it is important to write, call, email, and fax your elected officials and to shine the spot light on them when they do wrong and to quit voting for those who keep screwing up.

Right on, Ez.

We have to go after the ones who have sponsored and supported SOPA, PIPA, NDAA etc. They have made themselves our enemy.

Vote them out!

Both of America's establishment parties are beholden to the same pool of lobbyists who work for the top 1%. If anyone who represents you has a D or an R by their name then get registered and VOTE AGAINST THEM every single chance you get.

Ron Paul is the only one that makes sense, and yet he's being held down.
I'm done with both party's. This changed me.

I do not think democrats are doing this for votes.Democrats much like their republican counterparts enjoy kissing the ass of businesses. The sad thing is many people seem to be believe the lie that wealthy rich democrats who been in office for many years and sometimes even a decade or two are somehow for the poor working man while republicans are for the rich guy.

That's the problem with representative democracy, the idea that a small group can speak for millions.

In a representative democracy voters have to constantly write, email, call, fax or even sometimes visit their elected representatives or else that small group of people will run amok.
