Well, that stinks. And they've lost a potential customer right here.
Why on earth would I purchase video content from a website that I have to download specific software to play? They expect me to install a media player on my computer specifically to watch
PORN purchased from their site?
Why don't I just go ahead and set up a screensaver which flashes "I LOVE WATCHING CUTE JAPANESE GIRLS GETTING BUKKAKE'D" in massive letters instead?!
When it comes to pornography you win customers by being discreet. Forcing your customers to install a
porn-specific media player is not discreet.
Convenience is also an issue. People like to use players with specific features (e.g. I use VLC player when listening to music because its maximum volume is higher than other players) or use other software, such as editing software (e.g. I've edited out "rosebudding" and cuckold nastiness from scenes with performers I otherwise enjoy).
They need to listen to their customers and potential customers. People are clearly stating that they find these limitations inconvenient and unreasonable. Why not address them?
Why would people spend money on videos that they can't use at their own convenience when they can download pirated versions that they can?
There's nothing stopping them making their videos playable on other media players. Until they do, I won't be buying any videos from them.
To inconvenience customers who wish to purchase content legally is the quickest way to lose business and fuel piracy. It doesn't make any sense at all.
