Shame on you for trying to get around the license. Isn't there enough stolen JAV for you to download already?
You can use the R-player with the R18.com website for subscriptions and VOD.
But mostly your paying customer isn't trying to steal from you (DMM), the DRM simply interfere with the enjoyment of the product we already PAID for. As he said, the problem is poor quality of WMP. The root problem is the studio/publishers (DMM) get duped into some iffy technology by software vendors (MS). But is DRM hindering or promoting piracy?
Right now, except for the moral burden, the extremely minimal legal risk (few countries would take legal action on behalf of foreign porn businesses) and sometimes watermark by the release group, on every imaginable aspects pirated vids is a better shopping, viewing and re-viewing experience than the legit thing. Legit product is simply uncompetitive!
Release groups+file hosts+torrents have already made DRM totally meaningless in terms of stopping piracy. The only thing DRM does is drive away paying customers, especially those who aren't tech-savvy geeks (who are less likely to pirate, but also more likely to get annoyed by non-user-friendly DMM). A smarter strategic choice for DMM is to drop DRM completely and appeal to the conscience of the JAV fans. To be honest to myself... if it's a smooth, reliable shopping/payment experience and a DRM-free transportable, archive-able product. I think I will be buying on average about 6 full-priced (~ 3000 yens) new release JAV plus about 6 discounted (under 2000 yens) older/classic JAV per year.
It's actually quite arousing, sending money to my fav JAV performers.
I won't give you a long pitch and try and sell you on them here though.
Currently, we are running a trial promotion for the DREAM and MOODYZ channels, that costs 80 cents (it says 90 on the banner but due to the exchange rate its closer to 80) . Here is also a link to the sales page which has over 120 items listed on it with everything under $2...so you can literally get dozens and dozens of hours for under 10 dollars. That's a bloody deal even if you DO pirate a lot.Where are these 80 cent numbers? Or is that one of those "80 cents a day" things?

You can argue about DRM all you like, it won't be going away on DMM or R18 for sure. Our numbers and the numbers across the industry don't support a non-DRM service. Personally, not only as someone who works for this company, but I think the adult industries biggest mistake was giving users porn with no DRM in the first place. Visit any tubesite to see the damage it's done to the industry. While many of our movies are available for download as well, right here on this forum... it's small potatoes to the benefits that come from implementing DRM on our products. There are plenty of good reasons for purchasing and using R18 or DMM to get and watch your movies legally, I won't give you a long pitch and try and sell you on them here though. I think many of our users understand this and are willing to pay, in some cases as little as 80cents to access our content.
