Naturally, that wasn't the intention; it's hard to shake the notion that women and pornography are like oil and water, and when the exception occurs, disbelief results. The reality is, once the Internet made pornography easily accessible, more and more of the gentler sex have been getting into it. Only the braver ones openly admit such, however.
Blackscarf, I applaud your openness, and you have done everyone else one better by even choosing your portrait for the avatar. Very few of the "men" would exhibit such courage, myself included. You sound like a wonderful, and honest person.
Now we all got sidetracked, ignoring the reason for this thread. I'm not familiar with the personal lives of these actresses either, but I wanted to suggest, in addition to the two sites you commonly use, that you add DMM to the list. (I'm sure you already have, but I am going to assume, because you mentioned your newness to
Akiba-Online, that you may not have explored everything yet.) It is far more comprehensive, and when you go to a DMM page featuring an actress, you can get a very good idea of their current activity (and whether or not they have perhaps retired), because DMM lists (to my experience) their films from newest to oldest. So if you check the films at the top and take note of the film's release date, you will see when the actress' last undertaking was.
(Bearing in mind just because an actress has a recent film does not mean the film was shot recently. Popular actresses long gone still live on, because the studios release older works in compilations.)
Assuming DMM is foreign territory for you, what I do (forgive me if this is too obvious) is find a film of an actress. For example, searching for Risa Misaki's SHKD-369 led me to this page:

The actress page is accessed fourth from the top, as we can see working with Google translator (the top three being type of movie, such as "DVD," the release date - 2009/06/07, here - and the running length - 120). Risa's page is then:

The first listing is for RKI-220, which is a compilation work, released almost one year ago. Looks like, as you already knew, Risa has said
sayonara to the industry.
