Akiba online, despite being a virtual community it's still a community all in all. In every community, unless you are gravely disabled, you have to participate in someway if you wish to receive help from the others. Virtual community is pretty much the same, of course we have monitors in front of us, thus we feel much safer as it's much easier to do as we like, take as we like, flame as we like
.
Now nobody is forcing anyone to ID jav idols, share their video, moderating the forum or interacting with it, but personally, if i'm going to help you (and i'm speaking in general), I would like to know if you are at least an effective member of the community, even sneaking a peek sometime or expressing opinions and thoughts here and there, let the others know who you are and what is so special about you, sharing something (not necessarily material) with the community,
Sharing, that's what i call being part of a community.
Probably some user will understimate the above sentences, but i've been (and still am) in other communities where i have been able to experiment a true symbiosis with virtual people. Be it a guild community of a game or even a pony boobies fetish forum, the structure is the same and so are the people in it, some are numerous others are small, some are rude others are open and gentle.
Nobody forces you to do anything, but if you are brave enough, willing enough to share something with the community, the community will share something with you in a very special way (and again not necessarily material)
:coolguy: Damnit i should really stop using this emote...
Now...where was that pony boobies forum again? :super:
