I had never run into this thread by @[B]Zen10101[/B] before, and thought the idea was smashing. I have favorite series as well (e.g., this one), but I am now cowed to mention them, having examined what has been suggested thus far; seems what I think of as great JAV is out-of-step with what most everyone else thinks!

My attention especially zeroed in on @[B]Handsome Pete[/B]'s suggestion (Post #33, four posts up) of what he called "Wanz's Secret Agent series," and I wondered what was it about this particular series that made him single it out. There are many "investigator" series, and some have a catch, such as the one Zen10101 recommended with Post #20, at the end of the last page. (The catch was schoolgirls.
