Only those who have anythign to do with child p0rn should be afraid of that.
Luckily, others don`t have anything to hide :cheer:
Also people who like being able to do things like open programs or connect to the internet. You're clearly misunderstanding, the FBI thing is BS to scare people; the main issue is how it locks down your computer. Shit, even if it didn't do anything like that I'm not down with any programs that install themselves like that; I'm not even totally cool with programs updating themselves (especially if they leave an update service running all the time: looking at you Java
issed: and :damnit: Adobe).
I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt here and do my best to be polite. Your browsing habits are the issue here
....
NoScript is awesome, thanks for the suggestion; but whenever I learn about a cool Add-on for FireFox it reminds me how much of a nub I am when it comes to that kind of stuff (one of my dreams is to know what Greasemonkey is). Related note: I bet even Adblock+ with a decent filter would protect you from this virus. From the bits and pieces of things I've read its power level doesn't seem very high. Actually, doesn't Firefox automatically block mal-scripts (or most of them at least) just as part of what it does (i.e. without needing any add-ons)?
EDIT: NOTE: In the past month I've downloaded at least 50 GB of stuff (somewhere between most and all of it being porn obviously) from links here and haven't even heard of this so called "rampart [
sic]" FBI virus prior to seeing this thread.
