Awesome work jesped, and your explanation of process is appreciated.
I have started experimenting with upscaling a few vids and will upload here if/when they look decent. I have a Mac and a Linux machine, so at the moment the process involves a lot of back and forth:
1. Upscale using Topaz on the Mac (either Dehalo / MQ / LQ model, depending on source), dumping to jpg.
2. Interpolate frames on Linux box (with 1080 gpu) using RIFE (this one is just using the pytorch version on GitHub with some hacks to get it to run)
3. Use ffmpeg to combine the dumped frames together into a mkv (have only been using h264, but will try x265), and mux in the audio from its original source.
curious what your process is for “cleaning” the audio and video? Is it just a filter applied in Adobe Premiere?
