Someone messed up there.
I would have thought the first thing to do when choosing a pornstar moniker is to make sure somebody else does not have it already. Could it be that either one of them or even both are using their real name?!? I do wonder how they go about choosing their porn names or if in fact they do use their real names? The culture towards pornstars in Japan does seem to be quite different in Japan then in the west, with the whole 'idol' scene where we often see actresses worshipped by their fans. They will often appear in pop bands and have tv/movie careers alongside their AV career and so perhaps using their real names wouldn't seem such a bad idea.
I actually like how many actresses seem to choose normal regular names for the AV careers. It's a lot better than in the west,especially the US where it seems to have become a contest to see how many X's they can get in their names.

They're pronounced the same but written very differently. The Miku I posted also has Miku written in Katakana, which is a very stylizised way and probably not how it'd be written if it was her real name. It's often used to spell out foreign names in japanese, but in her case it's probably more like Ke$ha, to pick a western equivalent.

I don't think that's the case, Motiman! I mean... I'd like to think most of us would make sure to do that (it's just common sense), but evidently, many who go into the business do not. (Same goes for U.S. porn performers, too.) I'd suspect the ones who "will often appear in pop bands and have tv/movie careers alongside their AV career" establish these legitimate careers first, so of course "using their real names wouldn't seem such a bad idea." (That's because their initial fame becomes a selling point. Amy Fisher in U.S. porn, for example.) The ladies who come into porn with no background anywhere almost always have fake names, for very obvious reasons. (Japan is no exception for ostracizing people who dabble in sex, although not as bad as the USA... I'd hope.)
I incorporated the two-actress Miku Hasegawa example we discovered here into the new "Same Named JAV Actresses" thread... from which we may see Miku is far from an isolated case.
When Kharo88 wrote his amazing answer of Natsumi Horiguchi, I actually thought he might be right, because of that hair. It's astounding he came through, because ... well, it was an impossible case.

Had another thought. (Hey, I've got a million of 'em.) I guess our end, the English-speaking crowd, is only concerned with name-sameness in English. The Japanese version of the actresses' names may have slight differences, but... hey, if I were to be a porn actor, I'd want a name that is markedly different than any other, in all regards. (I'd want to be SPECIAL!) Perhaps my narcissism does not extend to all that many JAV actresses, and they don't feel that unique names matter. Many live with multiple pseudonyms, diluting their name brand... maybe any name will do, and who cares.

Yep. That was from WANZ-468. Girl's got small tits, average cute face and her roles are often of the quiet type. But she was herself in this one, and her personality really charmed me. She felt so real, like the average Japanese girl you'd meet on the streets. Hope she never gets any work done on her body, her genuineness is what's going for me.
I think she also broke 2 records in the Sex Pies Raw series: runtime (3.5 hours) and creampies (5).
