I don't like Ai's hairstyle in this one all that much, but performance-wise this could be awesome, judging by the trailer.
Yeah, I don't love it. I think the point is just parody, her mimicking other gal idols. The top left pic really reminds me of Aika for example.
That of course begs the question, what makes a "real" AV gyaru?
I remember Karen Uehara looking a lot more natural at the start of her career, with dark hair, light skin and everything, her being mixed-race was the only part that stood out a bit. And then suddenly she transformed into a gyaru. Did she already rock that look in private, before she did it in porn, or was it just the producers going:"You know what? Folks are really into the whole gyaru look, so from today on, you're the porn version of a gyaru.".
Makes you think, huh?

I agree with you, I noticed some not successful AV actresses has change their look to gyaru, so its more to marketing strategy than real personality
Oh... come on, we can all distinguish between a performer/celebrity's persona from her personality right. A persona is an act, a product, a packaging. It's true many celebrity's persona is a bit derived from his/her true personality. But you can't be a professional if you can't or won't fake a persona based on artistic and/or market demand.
I totally don't give a damn about the real life personality of each performers, say AIKA, she's typecast as a Black Gal, is she in real life? It does not matter at all! Actually I'd like her better if she has more range, sometimes a JK, or MILF or Gal.
Actually IMHO, all JAV Black Gals are un-authentic, it has so little to do with the real world. I think of same as Naked House Cleaners/Helps. No matter how many times an actress has played that role, no one would for one second believe she's an authentic house cleaner (in the nude or not).

Hmmm... I have almost nothing to contribute, recently I just have not come across any gyaru vid that interests me. I know maybe I'm missing something, but the covers that have been posted in this thread... Most of them I have zero interest to download or even just check the screens. Like REKU-016... fake tits and not even big tits. Ahh... but the back cover seems to say 3-holes (2-holes on the front cover) penetration... Hummphh maybe I should give it a go.
