Has JAV improved recently? (Not regarding the actresses only)

I just got back to watching JAV and some recent titles are really good in regards to the sex performance and chemistry between performers.

I got tired of watching starfish/maguro girls and bored looking male actors humping away like it's a job.

Watching gonzo-like movies from S1 or other studios don't help. That's why I don't watch them most of time. But movies with a plot like being seduced by girlfriend's sister are always fun to watch. Not to mention harem stuff.

I think with the growing # of uncensored JAV directors (think FC2) and the growing influence of foreign companies in Japan (also includes FC2 among others like PH), we're seeing studios having to go the extra mile in some regards.

Not to divert this tread, but I have heard this same thing many times, your comment about the mosaic. Personally I don't think I've ever really noticed - it all looks the same, but I also never paid any attention to the release years of the JAV I watch. Plus I only really got into JAV in the last couple of years. Only watched random JAV clips on tube sites prior to that.

So my question is can you recommend me a title or two that you think really illustrate this point, one pre-2013, another between 2013-2020, and one post-2020. Would appreciate it.

Also, I don't follow gravure models, but if they're going hardcore would love to see it. Any recommendations there?

For me I feel like Jav is more tame. I base it on the covers of movies from 2017 and before the covers and titles were a lot crazier. Plus it seems like everywoman was getting viciously gangraped. I mainly watch loli and mature jav, but loli seems alot more chill now.

FSDSS-162 is softer compared to 2020 levels. SOE-909 has 2013 levels.

There's been a whole lot of the GONZO stuff out I guess they are trying to counter FC2. The sex action seems to be better, but yes no story line, may be you'll get an outdoor shot of the girl on a date or being picked up and then back to the hotel. Talk about reducing your production costs. Well at least hotels can still make money nowadays.
