You're just a regular person fetching pirated porn like everybody else (that is, you're not a website operator making the pilfered product available), so how could you have received DMCA notices? Casshern2 followed up by asking, "You received notices for HAVING it or sharing it?" ... but you never answered. Can you shed more light on this? It's something we would all want to know, as it sounds so... irregular.
It was a long time since I downloaded western porn so I had a sudden crave for it that was... until I received DMCA notice for using torrents for porn from public trackers be it downloading or uploading -- either doesn't matter. This was mostly from kat.cr. It was one of the biggest, accessible, public trackers out there, but it got shut down recently. Fortunately, my notice wasn't too serious as it was a common copyright troll, or baiting, which apparently happens to quite a number of people.
What basically happens is that authoritative(?) persons/bots actively log all the IP addresses that are sharing from specific torrents/trackers. Then they use the IP to send messages en masse to all the ISPs telling them they have this customer doing bad things make it stop. These people mainly do it for money in hopes for the customer to call back using number on the notice, admit guilt, and scare you into paying some settlement fee. When that happened my ISP stopped my internet for a short while, but I got it back after speaking with them. I stupidly did admit guilt to my ISP, but I ignored the notice.
My ISP has a striking system before they take action. I received two or so strikes within' a month of each other. I was completely unaware though because it was forwarded to an old e-mail I didn't use anymore. I would have stopped otherwise. The last time was when they actually temporarily ceased my internet connection. Strangely, I had even more notices after my internet was restored, but they were delayed notices from before that so they didn't count it against me... I don't think.
I was bit upset by ordeal, and I'll admit I did panic a bit which resulted in me deleting most of my western porn that I deemed sub par, not worth keeping. However, I did do some research on this in the midst of that. I ended up holding on to the thought that nothing will happen to me at all, and that I don't actually need to go full crazy and wipe all the evidence.
That was a long time ago though, and nothing has actually happened since --
knock on wood. I've been on the down low ever since in terms of torrents, or at least for western porn. Big name western porn mainstream movie productions are too risky to torrent not at least without some security measures such as VPN services but even that isn't completely safe.

TL;DR To answer the question, yes, I received a DMCA notice from using porn torrents which is essentially the same as sharing. Not for having it. Though... that kind of ties in together so...

Feds indict two men in alleged $6 million ‘porno-trolling’ extortion scheme. Basically these attorneys bought rights to porn videos and uploaded them to torrent sites to catch people like me for money.
