How were your beginnings in the wonderful world of jav?

Same for me. NAS but in a JBOD configuration. The most difficult files to find online are also on an external backup (external hard drive). So a real backup for those ones. I also use my NAS for live concerts and movies storage, so it's not just JAV. I also have VR files (so it takes like 8-10Gb for one movie). I currently have a bit less than 7Tb of data.

During my tube years, back in 2008 I think, I saw few uncensored scenes of Maria Ozawa, but that was about it. I was watching random videos I found hot on the website, with big US porn names (I didn't care about their names at that time).

It's only in 2012 that I found my first JAV videos by browsing a website where I used to download US porn (I was storing videos of my favorite girls). There was a scene with Yui Hatano : Yui Hatano 波多野結衣 - I Know That Girl ~ Coming Home From Work [MOFOS]. It was around the same time I've got interested in japanese music as well. I decided to download the video and I found her way more natural than US porn actresses. The website only shared uncensored scenes and for few months, I only watched uncensored videos because I thought the censorship was stupid. Huge mistake. There were so much more interesting content and girls, so I ended up watching censored movies and the censorship quickly didn't bother me anymore.
It's incredible how at first censorship is a topic, and after a while in JAV, it doesn't bother at all anymore.

I love the stories that come out of forum topics like this-makes this forum worth while-thank you≥any examples of Japanese music that you could pass along?
I also like to read personal stories of tastes like mine, it makes me feel good. I'm a big fan of Japanese music: pillows is a band that never bores me, and I love Utada Hikaru, beautiful voice.

Great stories everyone.

One big takeaway is that censorship - while not ideal - it seems most of us can tolerate it.

I do feel like it has the benefit of forcing the JAV industry to approach filming with an eye towards creativity that might not otherwise exist without the mosaic.

Oh and I'll shout out Ryuichi Sakamoto. I caught some of his projects in the late 80s/early 90s due to his collaborations with David Sylvian from the English band Japan.
