Does anyone else think that way? I mean, I can literally set up a porn studio in my own home right now, with my own camera, and upload it online and sell it on my own, all without any producers, any executive, or male actors. And if I do need a male actor, I can hire my BF or husband, and if I don't have one, I can easily find one online from thousands of potential male suitors.

To be honest, who watches those fake AV anymore? The mosaic, the fake moaning, and the poor acting. It's just my two cents

AV industry is a dying industry like pretty much everything else now.

First of all, JAV stands for Japanese Adult Video, so, if you perceive it as dying, whatever proof or assumptions (like who want's to watch mosaic porn) for that are western (the KINGS of fake moaning), not Japanese. The Japanese have been living with and enjoying their porn with mosaics for a very very long time. In Japan it is thriving as much today as any other time. Also, Liu is definitely not a Japanese name. The author's personal experience with men outside of their race (just by going with the rather pointed and nonsensical titles with regard to the subject of this thread. I mean, "white power"?) has zero to do with an industry on the other the side of the Pacific. What is the percentage of white male leads or any presence in JAV? And, true, right now porn can mean anything to anybody and can absolutely be made at home. The tricky part is the legal aspects of hosting it for profit, I would imagine. Not to mention the fact that you can only try to make JAV-styled porn, you can't actually make JAV. You'd need the mosaic. And Japanese women and men. And the incredible themes and ideas. Etc...

But, as a little proof to the pudding here are some actual real numbers from just one distribution source that doesn't at all represent everything being produced in Japan, this is just the vast majority of major studio output for the coming days:

That is 551 titles being released in just 8 days, which is hardly an indication of a dying industry.

I think the mainstream JAV industry--what most of the discussion here is about--has severely galápagosized itself and while most webmasters view them in a negative light, I'm keenly interested in seeing how PornHub's increased popularity in Japan forces studios to think differently.

I think the opposite is true. I get the impression that Japanese people are more miserable than ever, so more will join and consume JAV. With all the herbivore men, the shut-ins (hikakomori or something like that) and JAV being a lot more established and presumably safer due to the recent regulations (IPPA) I'm sure it's here to stay. Also, didn't digital sales spike during COVID?

What an insanely asinine question to ask in a website almost entirely dedicated to the thing that you are asking "who watches?".

To answer your question. No it isn't dying and it will never die. It's porn and it will always have an audience. There will be some changes big and small but the industry will always be there. There might even be some decline in its talent pool due to girls choosing to go independent but the larger JAV industry will always be there to serve its audience.

The standard instagram thot or OnlyFans/ManyVids content creator will never be able to match an actual studio with their low res fucking iPhone in a static position on a Walmart tripod and bad lighting.

And it's not just the production quality too. Just think about the variety in scenarios and genre in JAV in comparison to western porn, now multiply that difference by a million. Sure, you can film your own stuff and hire your own male actor. But I'll like to see you try finding 200 men to jizz into your mouth for you to swallow. That is if you are even willing to.

Even for western porn. All those amateur videos aren't my thing at all. I don't understand why they are popular. Bad camera angles, you don't see the girl's face (they want money from porn but don't want to assume side effects, loosers !), no story, ...
JAV has movies with stories, many hot girls, VR movies. The only downside is that some actors are all over the place and they ruin movies.

Haha, I mean we see far too often the same dudes in S1 or Moodyz movies. Some ruin movies for me like Shimiken (can't stand him anymore), the big fat frog face dude licking the girl's face or the tan ripped dude. Now, I even know which movies I should skip when they are released lol.
